Supposedly, Russell Mulcahy is back in the director's chair for this one. Since he did the first one, I'm a little intrigued... but he also did the MACBETH of the series...
I believe he was contractually bound to do THAT film and didn't have say over the script, hopefully lessons will have been learnt.
I don't know... Davis & Panzer have a track record for getting their movies taken away from them, so...
BTW, why wouldn't a director have say over the script? He's supposed to have the most heavy creative control, after the producers.
The people funding the movie have the ultimate control. When you can say, "Do this, or no money, and no film" you frequently get your way.
Well it might spoil somethings some of us really are curious as to the origins of Immortals and where the entire Game came from with the Rules, etc.also what the Quickening is,wheter or not Immortals are sterile, where the Watchers came from, etc.
As long as their idea is a good one, I won't complain.
Though BTW I thought the TV show covered where the Watchers came from -- someone saw Gilgamesh come back to life...
Highlander: The Source will start filming in Lithuania later this year. Adrian Paul will return as Duncan McLeod.
This is out on DVD now. I recently saw it, and well...
This movie was dreadful. The story made no sense whatsoever, and many plot lines were left dangling (what happened to Methos, for example, he was last seen being chased by a mob of cannibals, and it's never revealed what happened to him).
Apparently, even Adrian Paul was unhappy with the final result. He had some creative control, but those higher up kept interferring.
Mr. Paul and the other cast members performed well though. However, even good acting can't save a bad script, and that is what this was.
