I really don't think John Vornholt is that good of a writer, particularly when it comes to protraying the main characters of the show. It's been years since I read this book, but I still vividly remember this one line that LaForge says. Try as I did, I could not picture Levar Burton saying this!
(Picard and LaForge lock someone in the mess hall of their transport ship)
Picard says something along the lines of "Will that hold them?"
LaForge (Direct quote): "Yes, because I've disabled the door's circuitry."
That line's almost too flat for Ben Stein to read convincingly!
Still, I liked this book.
