From the previews, it looks like they stole part of the plot from "Red Dwarf."

You mean they go to an alternate dimension where Trip meets himself as a woman & has sex with himself?

IIRC the early 80's movie Rabbit Test was about a pregnant man. (Pre-Red Dwarf) And You could go back to Greek mythology to find that Zeus gave birth to Artemis & Dionysus.

(Which isn't to say that the writer wasn't inspired by Red Dwarf, but the idea has been around for a while.)

Except Zeus gave birth to them out of his head! :)

Zeus gave birth to Athena from his head, as she represented wisdom, knowlege and power of him. Dionysus was given birth from his thigh, representing his earthly, lustly part. Herc could have beaten both of them up, of course... Well, it depends on if Athena used the thunderbolt...

The problem with this plot is that it has been around a little _too_ long. I liked the pilot, but my feeling about this show is "Why bother?"

My hope is that Previews Always Lie will prove true of this episode as well and Trip's pregnancy will be a quiet subplot of a more interesting story.

I wasn't being critical with my post. Perhaps "looks like a tribute to" would have been a better choice of words than "stole." But the Red Dwarf episode did immediately spring into my mind. I can just picture one of the other characters saying, "I'm going to be an uncle!" just like Rimmer.

Doesn't Phlox sound kinda like Holodoc in the
ads?
Just read up on Connor Trineer in the latest
issue of Communicator, turns out he graduated
from Pacific Lutheran in Tacoma.
This ep looks to be the early token comedy!:)

After seeing this preview... Well to quote Lister,
"It's going to be a laugh finding out!"
