Biggest Question Remaining from the Temporal Cold War?

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Enterprise: Enterprise Kitchen Sink: Biggest Question Remaining from the Temporal Cold War?
By Zul on Friday, November 26, 2004 - 5:38 pm:

How were the Tholians involved?

I doubt we'll see them again with regards to this explanation. 2 times we've seen them on Trek history and big questions surround both. One of the largest threads hanging?

By The Undesiable Element on Friday, November 26, 2004 - 11:42 pm:

The whole war is a giant hanging thread. I still can't figure out how anyone remembers it or why the entire series wasn't changed as a result of it never happening.

Time travel gives me a headache. Wonky time science with massive temporal paradoxes gives me a migrane.

Sigh. The Temporal Cold War still happened. It was the "hot war" in "Storm Front" that didn't.

By Rene on Saturday, November 27, 2004 - 11:48 am:

In the timeline "resetting" we see at the end of part 2, they showed events from the first three seasons of Enterprise, including the Xindi. They STILL HAPPENED!

By The Undesirable Element on Saturday, November 27, 2004 - 4:44 pm:

But how could they have happened? If Vosk started the whole temporal cold war in Nazi Germany, then stopping him would have prevented the entire temporal cold war.

I can fully accept that this did not happen. I just don't see why it didn't.

Maybe I've forgotten too much of that episode. I'll have to check it out.

Vosk and Silik had history before "Storm Front". Vosk's actions in the episode started an all out war throughtout time. But his actions had nothing to do with the Tholians, the Suliban, Future guy, etc...

Can't tell you. Temporal Prime Directive.

By Rene on Saturday, November 27, 2004 - 8:42 pm:

Ewww. Are you quoting Voyager?!

By Josh Gould (Jgould) on Saturday, November 27, 2004 - 10:18 pm:

Voyager has plenty of good lines despite anything else about the series...

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm receiving a number of distress calls...

By Spock on Saturday, November 27, 2004 - 10:37 pm:

I don't doubt it...

By Dr. Leonard H. McCoy on Saturday, November 27, 2004 - 10:43 pm:

Dammit, Spock. That was my line!

By Influx on Saturday, November 27, 2004 - 11:23 pm:

This might seem dumb but... even though I watched every episode, and maybe I forgot, but did they ever say who Future Guy was?

By DG on Sunday, November 28, 2004 - 1:43 am:

Oh my God, brain cramp!!! I knew it was McCoy, and for whatever reason wrote Spock!!! Argh, I'm a fool! A FOOL!!!

By James T. Kirk on Sunday, November 28, 2004 - 12:33 pm:

May fortune favor the foolish.

By LUIGI NOVI on Sunday, November 28, 2004 - 6:32 pm:

No, Influx.

By Harvey Kitzman on Tuesday, November 30, 2004 - 2:39 pm:

From what I recall, the Future Guy appeared to have the silhouette of having pointed ears. Could it have been a Romulan?

Time travel stories do give me a headache. I am glad to see this plot device gone, but it should have been better resolved. I'm glad to see the Suliban gone too.

Future Guy is Kim Jong-Il!!!!

(See the last line of the link).

Yeah, it was gone the next day :(

It was part of their April fools day jokes, and they said the FutureGuy was Kim Jong-Il.
