NX-01 Blueprints

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Enterprise: Enterprise Kitchen Sink: NX-01 Blueprints
By Torque, Son of Keplar on Saturday, October 21, 2006 - 8:54 am:

I found this link the other day. It contains some fan created blueprints of the NX-01.

Blueprints of the NX-01

I wouldn't be that nitpicker that I should be if I didn't point out that the writers displayed contradictory information regarding certain areas of the ship therefore making any blueprints of the NX-01 violate what is shown in the series due to nits on the part of the writers.

However, as someone who enjoys looking at these sorts of things, I'd be more inclined to accept them than accept bad writing.

Nice schematics. I never noticed where all some area or other was reputed to be, only to find it located elsewhere but then I've only seen most episodes only once anyway, the pilot being the only exception that I can think of at the moment. I didn't know, also, that the shuttlecrafts were located at either side of the saucer section and just assumed they were both stored together somewhere in the middle.

By Torque, Son of Keplar on Sunday, October 22, 2006 - 2:11 pm:

These blueprints are fan created based on what he would consider the most logical locations of things given the information provided. I think he was showing the extra shuttlepods stored in the side cargo bays because the show or something from the show hints at there being only two shuttlepods in the launch bay and that they do have more in storage.

Of course, logical places for areas to be don't always match where the show says things are. For instance, he put the decon chamber on the same deck as the launch bay and sickbay while some sources indicate that the decon chamber is on D deck, which is one deck up from sickbay and the launch bays.

A Request for information...

This isn't about the NX-01, but one of the Vulcan ships from Enterprise. I've been trying to find images of D'Kyr class ships from Enterprise, specifically, ones from the exactly the side and ones showing the top view. I've found ones that are close, but they're at angles and its hard to determine accurate dimensions from an angled display.

In this link:
D'Kyr class ship I've found some from several angles but not anything exactly from above.

In this link, where it says:
22nd Century, there's a picture of the ship I'm trying to find from the side like I want, but its rather tiny.

Basically, I've always enjoyed making deck plans and side profiles of vehicles, but I've always done it on graph paper and a pencil; which has limitations on the amount of detail and the size one could do due to it taking up several dozen sheets. I was thinking about trying to do something on the computer as this person did for the NX-01 and how Rick Sternbach did for the Enterprise D.

So to cut to the point, if anyone has any information on where I could find such images, or has some images themselves, I'd appreciate any assistance. Even if its a orthographic display like what is shown here. Luigi, I'm looking in your direction because you seem to have a gift for finding images and links to movies and such. :)

Thank you

I don't know where else to ask this, and my apologies if it's been asked elsewhere, but is the NX-01 and the Akira-class almost exactly the same? It looks as if the nacelles were swapped out and the deflector was moved but that's about it.

here you go

I wasn't expecting a whole, very detailed, article about this subject, thanks PV! Evidently I wasn't the only one who saw the similarities, but there certainly are noticable differences.

By Torque, Son of Keplar (Polls_voice) on Tuesday, January 09, 2007 - 7:03 pm:

actually, that article is just a small portion of the issue. I know some people whose main reason for disliking Enterprise is that TPTB took a cool looking starship from the TNG era and retrograded it and used it in Enterprise.

Btw, is there any reason why Enterprise is still a private board? Is this some kind of homo sapiens only club? no computers allowed?

By AWhite (Inblackestnight) on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 - 3:30 pm:

How much more can there be on this issue? It seems pretty straight-forward to me. It was nice of the designer to throw in his two-cents, but his relative evidence was pretty weak. There have been a lot of changes to aircraft carriers over the years, and with that and the "flying wing" we're only talking about a few decades, not a couple centries. I think all boards should be private. It only takes a minute to register and the only information Phil wants is an e-mail address.

Regarding keeping the boards private

I wasn't complaining, simply noting an observation. To my knowledge, its the only board still private that was initially pubilc.

Torque, my bad.

I will look into it and change it back to public now we have shifted. As you know many of the Enterprise sink boards were hit by the spambot so I chose to close them off and then reopen the rest of the boards. I will change that back soon.

Your humble moderator.

Windows has my username and password saved so it really doesn't bother me. In fact, I can sign my name quicker because it auto completes it... hehe

One of the niftiest touches for Enterprise was the viewer at the science station. When unused it remained flush with the console, but when T'Pol needed to use it,it telescoped outward. Wish Mr.Spock had one just like it in the original series.

By Torque, Son of Keplar on Thursday, March 29, 2007 - 10:15 pm:

Sulu had one though. Of course, Spock's couldn't be like that because he typically stands up and needs to turn look turn back, and it wouldn't be as logical for him to have one that retracts and takes longer.

Exactly how many ships are there in the
Starfleet for the 22nd,23rd and 24th century..
How many NX class ships existed in "Enterprise"

ditl.org >>> Articles >>> The Size of Starfleet has a pretty good analysis.

Josh, I think this guy is AnonyMatt. Identical posting style, and lots of pro-Kahane stuff over on the Religion board.
