Is "Future Guy" really Jonathan Archer himself...?

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Enterprise: Enterprise Kitchen Sink: Is "Future Guy" really Jonathan Archer himself...?

Do we accept that explanation as
Canon..? Does it in any way "ruin" the character of Jonathan Archer ?
If "Future Guy" really was Archer, does this mean 28th Century Archer/Future Guy is Evil or perhaps an Anti-Hero, with shades of grey, mixed motivations ...?

No. If it didn't air, it's not canon.

And no, Future Guy wasn't Archer.

Well, I've heard the show's creators were toying with the idea during season 1, but decided to go in another direction when season 2 started. So, it's halfway canon, sort of.

The show's creators were toying with a lot of . It didn't air. It's not canon.

Berman and Braga have since admitted that they had no idea who Future Guy was. They're the ones who came up with this lame idea, so if they don't know, no one does.

The Temporal Cold War was a bad idea from day one, stemming from Braga's obsession with time travel (one wonders why he wasn't on the first plane to the U.K. when the story broke that Doctor Who was going back into production).

Thank God that Manny Coto ditched the whole thing when he took over. Season Four is regarded as the best season of Enterprise, but, unfortunately, the changes came too late to save the show.

What about my Statement about
Temporal Agent Crewman Daniels on
Star Trek: Enterprise knowing the true identity of "Future Guy"
Daniels was from the 31st Century while "Future Guy" was from the 28th Century, was "Future Guy" truly evil, or a Villain, or just doing what he felt was right

I seem to recall a rumor that Future Guy was supposed to be a Romulan. I don't know where I got that from, and obviously we'll never know, but at the time I want to say that was the more persistent possibility.

By Tim McCree (Tim_m) on Thursday, October 21, 2021 - 6:10 am:

Maybe it's the Doctor :-)

By AWhite (Inblackestnight) on Thursday, October 21, 2021 - 8:19 pm:

It's probably Sam from Quantum Leap messing with Archer because he looks kinda familiar.

By Tim McCree (Tim_m) on Friday, October 22, 2021 - 5:38 am:

Never thought of that.

By Jeff Winters (Jeff1980) on Monday, September 04, 2023 - 8:15 am:

Should the identity of
"Future Guy" remain a mystery, or should it ultimately be revealed in a future Star Trek TV show or Movie
Also what were the exact years of the founding of each of the following
United Earth, UESPA,
United Earth Space Probe Agency and
Earth Starfleet as seen in
Star Trek: Enterprise

What do you think? Or is that too much work?

By Tim McCree (Tim_m) on Tuesday, September 05, 2023 - 5:08 am:

Nobody cares about "Future Guy" anymore. He's old news.

I can't see the current lot in charge of Trek bothering wit this.
