Who's got any or all SW soundtracks and what do ya think of 'em?

By Adam on Sunday, May 27, 2001 - 8:36 am:

I got them all. They "Total soundtrack" versions are much better.

I remember that a buddy of mine that worked at the movie theater found out that Qui Gon was going to die in EpI because he bought the soundtrack before the movie came out and one of the tracks is called Qui Gon's Nobel End.

It could have been about his Bum/Ass/Arse

Qui Gon's Nobel End

Sounds explosive to me!

Odd thing about the TPM soundtrack is that the music and the track titles often don't match. "The Arrival at Naboo" is largely the music for the arrival at Coruscant (which shows up again under "The Naboo Palace"). The later portions of the Gungan battle are under the title "Anakin Defeats Sebulba." The distinctive section from Anakin's race with Sebulba is on a different track; I couldn't find it last time I looked. The audience with Boss Nass is not on the "Boss Nass" track but on "Passage through the Planet Core," and most of the passage-through-the-core music is titled, "The Appearance of Darth Maul." I could go on, but as you can see, it's quite confusing.

I have the Return of the Jedi Special Edition soundtrack, which supposedly has all the music from the movie, but it lacks at least one piece. One of Jabba's musical themes has a lot of steel drums in it and plays after Chewie is led away and when we first see the sail barge. It's my favorite music from Jabba's palace. Does anyone know if it has been released on any soundtrack?

Sorry, Chronicler, that's one of only a handful of Star Wars cues that remains unreleased.

Someone asked about the Phantom Menace Ultimate Edition (the 2-disc set) on another board. It's pretty good.

Speaking of which, I've heard that there's going to be a 2-disc Ultimate Edition of the music from Attack of the Clones, which is apparently all ready for release but is being held back by red tape.
