This a fun CD to have. Yes, many of the songs can be found elsewhere, but the original version of Cleveand Rocks, covered by PUSA earlier in the album, is REALLY tough to find. Plus it contains some snippets of dialouge from the show.
I was absolutely thrilled when they used the entire version of "Five O'Clock World" by the Vogues for one or two seasons. I just love that song. A country singer, Sammy Kershaw, I think, did an OK but rather inferior version of it, but then it's very seldom that one person or group does as good or better a version of someone else's song.

Sounds like a new thread, MarkN...
BTW, Julian Cope did "Five O'Clock World" on My Nation Underground, using Petula Clark's "I Know a Place" as a bridge. It's amazing how seemlessly those songs fuse together. He sped it up considerably and took out the yodeling. I like it as much as the original.
Thanks for creating the new Covers boards, Miko. And you're welcome for the idea. *S*
BTW, I was wrong about Sammy Kershaw singing "Five O'Clock World". It wasn't him, but Hank Ketchum. There's a woman at work with that CD of his and she sometimes brings it in to listen to.
Thanks, guys, for telling me the name of "Five O'Clock World"; for years I never knew the name of that spectacular song. Why did they change it?
