Any era is fine by me, although I'm more of a fan of the post-romantic and early 20th Century eras. And I also quite like today's living composers such as György Ligeti, James MacMillan and Sir John Tavener (though they're all acquired tastes for someone accustomed to smelling what Baroque is cooking :O).
