Rammstein's "Live aus Berlin" kicks MAJOR @$$. I watch it regularly.

And now, Lichtspielhaus.

*squeals, loudly*

This is one LOADED DVD.

So what's everyone's favorite music DVD?

By Todd Pence on Monday, December 15, 2003 - 8:01 pm:

Well, I may be prejudiced :), but there's the two DVD's that I appear on, Asia's "Live In The USA" and Uriah Heep's "Live In The USA", both released by Classic Rock Productions this past year.

Other than that, there's the Yes symphonic DVD.

I currently own:

The Best of The Eurythmics
Madonna: The Immaculate Collection
Wierd Al Yankovic Complete Video Collection
The Best of YES Music Videos

Next week I'll have "The Eurythmics: Sweet Dreams Concert" DVD

After watching the "Eurythmics: Live From Heaven" DVD, I was thrilled to pieces about seeing / hearing it again. I used to have this on RCA Videodisc before the player went kerput. The DVD's overall sound quality was very well done. The only bad spot was during the "Sweet Dreams" MTV video segment. The volume sounded diminished.

Other than that, Annie Lennox was/is HOT!

Classic Rock Direct, formerly Classic Rock productions, is coming out with a special new series of documentary "Inside The Music"-style DVDs for some of the most legendary bands in rock history. Unlike the VH-1 show, these documentaries will focus more on the musical legacy of the bands or artists (the albums and songs) than on the personal history. They will also usually focus on just one period of a group's history, considered by fans to be the "classic" period. The series bills itself as "a critical review". Each DVD will feature lengthy interviews with former band members and rare, never-before released performance footage. Many of the sets will also come with a booklet that gives a track-by-track analysis and review of each song of the period under question.

The series currently features the following DVDs:

BLACK SABBATH: 1970-1992
DAVID BOWIE AND THE SPIDERS FROM MARS: 1969-1972
DAVID BOWIE AND THE SPIDERS FROM MARS: 1972-1974
DEEP PURPLE: 1969-1973
DEEP PURPLE: 1973-1976
EMERSON, LAKE AND PALMER: 1970-1995
FREE: 1969-1972
GENESIS: 1970-1975
GENESIS: 1975-1980
LED ZEPPELIN: 1968-1972
PINK FLOYD: 1967-1974
PINK FLOYD: 1975-1996
RAINBOW: 1975-1979
RAINBOW: 1979-1997
SLADE (the singles): 1971-1991
SUPERTRAMP: 1974-1980
THIN LIZZY: 1971-1983
URIAH HEEP: 1970-1980
WISHBONE ASH: 1970-2004
YES: 1968-1973

These sound awesome. I can't wait till they start hitting the shelves. For more info, visit the CRD website at

Live Aid has finally come to dvd- I picked up my copy today. I suspect it will appear in many music aficiandos collection. My personal highlights include the amazing bracket performed by Queen (as well as the stunning version "Is This The World We Created?" done by Freddie and Brian whilst battling feedback) and most of David Bowie's set...

Watch for the mullets....

Watch for the shoulder pads...

Watch for all those bands you remember from the 80's who have long since split... Style Council, Adam and the Ants, Ultravox... the list is endless.

Oh yeah, they also put on the "We Are The World" clip (Poor Bruce Springsteen looks like he's trying to pass a gallstone... sounds like it to...)
