Think it'll catch on? On one hand I hope it does, although I don't fancy re-buying the 2000 titles I have on CD now. On hte other hand, I think if it were to catch on, it alreay would have.

No, you don't want it to catch on. With a standards-compliant CD, you can do whatever you want with it, there is no access control mechanism. With DVD Audio, you can (in theory) only use it on licensed players, or you're violating the DMCA.

According to some journalists in the British Music/Hi-Fi press, DVD-Audio's dead in the water.
The latest thing they're Currently"trying out" in some parts of the U.S,is a twin sided "Flipper" disc with DVD-Audio on 1 Side, & CD audio on the other...
As for your DVD-player playing DVD-Audio, forget it, as they have to be DVD-A compatable, in order to play DVD-Audio discs to begin with...
Also, due to disagreements over the format of the DVD-A disc TOC (Table of Contents) between music labels, said player might not play the DVD-A audio, without you going through menus...
