A World Apart

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Digimon: Digital Monsters: Season Three: A World Apart
The battle against Vikaralamon continues. But things appear complicated when the Digimon begin to vanish. Mr. Wong shows up the battle site.

But then weird kid/monkey boy reveals himself as a Deva. He reveals that he wants Calumon so the Devas can become stronger and defeat the real world, protecting the Digital World.

Meanwhile, Impmon is confronted by a voice, who tells him he can help him digivolve.

Makuramon reveals his true form and takes Calumon. The juggernaut system overloads and Hypnos begins to fall apart.

Takato screams into victory (literally), defeating Vikaralamon.

Makuramon leaps into the Digital World, evading Leomon. Leomon falls to the ground, hurt. Jeri gets a Yellow D-Power.

Takato is resolved to go to the Digital World and save Calumon before the Devas can use his powers.

Spoiler if you haven't seen the previews!!!

The previews for this ep show that the weird kid who's been in the last couple of eps is actually a Deva. (And they still haven't stopped the pig Deva from the last ep. I like that they are raising the stakes like this.)

That Yellow D-Power looks better than the Green one I have. Drat. Should have waited for the yellow one to be released :)

So, if monkey-boy has been a Deva all along, how come Guilmon never did his "I smell a Digimon" thing when he was around?

By Rene on Saturday, December 01, 2001 - 1:00 pm:

Because his "I smell a sub-plot" sense took over? ;)

Interesting that whenever familiar Digimon make an appearance, they always appear in the form we are most familiar with. Leomon, for example.

Not to mention all the Digimon in the second season finale. I mean, all the season one Digimon were in their rookie forms, but the others were all Champions.

Hmmmm... Interesting...

How come Jeri's D-Power just appears infront of her while the others had to use the blue card to turn their card readers into D-Powers?

By Blitz on Sunday, January 06, 2002 - 2:16 pm:

None of the D-Powers seem to apear in the same manner as the others. I guess they don't want to look like copycats
