Homeward Bound

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Digimon: Digital Monsters: Season Three: Homeward Bound
The Ark begins the journey home, despite the fact that some of the kids are not there.

Not too much happens. Jeri isn't acting like herself. Rika and Renamon make it on time, with Impmon, who doesn't feel he deserves to be there.

They make it home. Takato takes Jeri home, who still isn't acting like herself.

But unfortunatly, the chaos has also followed them to the real world.

It looked like Ryo was greeting a parent or guardian. How did Yamaki know who to contact? When did they send a message saying they had found Ryo?

The train didn't make much sense. Jerry goes to the same school as Takato & plays in the same park, so why does she have to take a long train ride to get home?

Kenta refers to Marineangemon as a he. For some reason (probably the high-pitched voice & pink coloring) I was thinking Marineangemon was female, but if he was then he probably would been called MarineangeWOmon.

Great Lines: “Well, it’s not like I think about you all the time or anything, because I do!” Takato, that ladykiller, trying to get through to Jeri (Jeri’s mumbled reading of the lunch box ingredients is very effective to, see below)

Great Moments: This covers a number of episodes, but I thought I’d just mention it here: the creators do a stellar job depicting Jeri’s slip into madness, especially for a so-called “kid’s show.” The scene of her and Takato on the train still give me chills.

Jeri's family is staying with relatives at the moment (Reily says so when she's talking to Tamaki), I assume they evacuated during the Deva attacks?

Why didn’t Rika use the boost card as soon as the started to head back?

How does the de-digivolving thing in the Ark work? It can’t work based on level, since Marineangemon could make it in while being a Mega. But if it just tones down based on size, then why does Guardrumon still take up so much space? He’s about the same size as Cyberdramon.

So, the Ark uses the same AI code as Digimon, and people are SUPRISED that it acts weird?

Where did that one last Digi-gnome come from? Janyu’s Ark made it sound like all the Digi-gnomes gave up their life force to make the Shining Digivolution work.

Speaking of which, once again the whole partner/digivice appearing act is far less spectacular than it was in the first half of the series.

Just when you thought that Takato’s parents might finally start to act like real parents for once, they let their kid go off on a subway ride after having him back FOR A FEW MINUTES?

You know, I’m surprised that Jeri’s Dad doesn’t seem to have any problem with Calumon coming back with her, seeing how thrilled he's been over her little adventure in general.
