Reunion

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Digimon: Digital Monsters: Season Three: Reunion
Around Japan, the Tamers and their families watch the spread of the Chaos on the news as Janyu, Yamaki, and company attempt to figure out how the D-Reaper made it into this world and what disrupted Hypnos before. Meanwhile, the Tamers themselves try to cope with the return to their old lives and the effects being a Tamer has had on them, especially given the events of the past few weeks. Rika realizes that her mother has changed almost as much as she has during this ordeal. Unfortunately, Takato finds that most people have changed for the worst as he tries to keep anyone from spotting Guilmon and panicking. Ryo receives a celebrity’s welcome, although his Dad is less than thrilled at Monodramon’s presence. Jeri continues to hobble around in her creepy fashion before dissaearing completely. Henry promises Janyu that he will leave the Chaos up to them. Of course, he, Takato, and Rika go off to fight it anyway, arriving just as the army begins its assault on the D-reaper.

I guess Kenta and Kazu don't care about helping the others to fight the D-Reaper. (Sheesh...did Gardromon do anything useful yet. At least Marineangemon has an excuse...He just showed up two episodes ago.)

Rika's mom gives Rika a new shirt & Renamon thanks her. Why? Renamon didn't get a new shirt.

Loved the pep talk by the military guy, "Men, we're about to march into the belly of the beast." What a way to inspire confidence than to bring to mind images of being eaten alive. ;-)

Rika asks what those birds are. Say, why not whip out your digivice & see if it has any info on them?

At the very beginning, Rika watches the newscast about the Chaos covering Downtown Shinjuku and says “This wouldn’t be happening if the D-Reaper hadn’t followed us.” Well, DUH.

Sensei and Henry continue throw around philosophy that they clearly don’t understand. For one thing, using the “clouds in front of the sun make shadows” analogy is a very rotten illustration for relativity in right and wrong. Even if you can’t see the sun in the shadow, it’s still there. That’s not relative anything, it’s just ignorance of an absolute. Likewise, Henry talks about how the Devas didn’t believe they were wrong, yet the facts presented in the previous episodes shows that they WERE wrong whether they believed it or not.

So, why was there no one guarding the tunnel? Do these grade school kids really know the lay out of the city better than the army?

Speaking of which, they really shouldn’t call it “The Army” in this show. Technically, Japan only has the Self Defense Force (true, it is an ARMed force, but still…)
