The D-Reaper's Disguise

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Digimon: Digital Monsters: Season Three: The D-Reaper's Disguise
Alice’s partner Dobermon was sent by the Sovereign to give the tamers the ability to bio-merge in this world. He succeeds, though his own data is destroyed in the process, much to Alice’s dismay. Thankfully, Alice and Dobermon are not the only ones who decide to help the Tamers in their fight, Kazu, Kenta, and even Suzie head out to join the battle. Even the Ark manages to send a message to Yamaki, looking for a way to help. None of it can keep Galantmon from getting pulled into the Chaos, to be greeted by Jeri! At least, it looks like Jeri. As it turns out, Jeri was captured by the D-reaper before the Tamers left the Digiworld in order to study humans. The “Jeri” that accompanied them back to this world was actually an imposter created by the D-reaper to observe this world. Now, the D-reaper has decided that humans are too weak and unpredictable to be allowed to exist, so they will be destroyed. Outside, Kazu and Guardromon arrive, but everyone is more interested in an unfamiliar new Digimon who has also just arived…

Why does Megagargomon need Galantmon’s help to overpower the D-reaper thing? None of those bunches of missile ports are covered up by its tentacles, he could have blasted it on his own. But then there wouldn’t have been any tension over the break. (Does anyone else think that this episode seems to spend the whole first half stalling for time?)

The Jeri clone claims that emotions are a weakness of humans, and the D-reaper experiences no such emotions. Well, if that’s so, then why does said Jeri clone smile menacingly all the time? Isn’t smiling usually associated with an emotion? Sure, you might say that she was just mimicking human behavior as part of her study, but then why does she still do it while speaking to Takato?

When the Jeri Clone grows into an adult form, her dress understandably ends up being much shorter on her. Yet, somehow, the sleeves of both the dress and the jacket manage to grow with her arms and still cover her wrists.
