Number 73 is one of those rare numbers with a 7 in. (Rare in that the Village tends to avoid them).
Love this episode a lot.
The viewers know what is going on and it is a nice change of pace to see there being no escape attempt.
One tiny continuity nit- No 2 fires number 14 and a close up of him shows his hair all messed up, immediately the shot cuts back to number 14 with the number 2 shot from nehind and his hair is back in place meticulously.
Patrick Cargill, who plays Number 2 in this episode, played Thorpe in the episode "Many Happy Returns." I doubt they're meant to be the same character.
When No. 6 first goes to the general store (if that's what it's called), there's a sign in the window - "Music makes a quiet mind." To the right of this sign is a blue sign saying, "Music begins where words leave off." Then there is a closeup of the window and now there's a yellow sign in place of the blue one which says, "Music says all." The next shot goes back to the previous view and the blue sign is back on the right and we can see the yellow sign on the left.
No. 6 attaches a note to a pigeon saying that he will send a message the next morning. No. 2 shoots down the bird, obtains the note and the next morning, observes No. 6's Morse code message. He also looks for a submarine, plane or boat that might be receiving it. The problem is: he shouldn't have expected to find anyone because how would the intended receivers know that No. 6 was sending the message in the first place since No. 2 intercepted the notification?
