Boba Fett was on the Cover of
TV Guide , the issue for
December 20, 2021 to January 2, 2022, and it said on the Cover
"Boba Fett
Star Wars Takes Over TV!
Plus Scoop on Obi-Wan Kenobi and 5 other new series" The TV Guide Cover was in reference to the upcoming series The Book of Boba Fett. There is an online article headlined
Boba Fett, Intergalactic Man of Mystery ,
Plus It's funny how on
Family Guy, Peter Griffin is a big fan of Boba Fett

Somewhat underwhelming for a pilot episode. Not saying it was bad, but it certainly didn't hook me like Mando did in its first episode. The pacing was slow and the fight choreography was a bit sloppy. I wasn't really impressed by the score either, and the Twi-leks looked way too human for my taste... what happened to the sharp teeth and forehead bumps we've seen in other live-action Twi-leks? Also, when those guys with shields appeared, who I presume were sent by Mos Espa's mayor, why did it take so long for the Gamoreans to help out?

There was some decent setup, but it felt more like a filler story rather than a pilot IMHO. Personally, I think either the whole ep should've been devoted to his flashbacks, to get them largely out of the way, or spread out over more eps because they didn't do the present story many favors.

The visuals were excellent, of course, and I liked that there were as many aliens (if not more) as humans, but I was hoping for a more solid entry than The Mandalorian, or even Boba's debut on that show's second season. Just my two cents!

NOT SO GOOD EPISODE:

The Streets Of Mos Espa

A. No explanation as to how "Santo" got into Boba's palace

B. Mods' bikes too bright and colorful for Tatooine

C. Chase scene too slow

D. If the Mods had no jobs, how were they able to afford those shiny bikes?

E. No explanation where Fennic was when "Santo" attacked

I think one of the main problems with this series was the overuse of the Bacta Tank for flashbacks

Other flashbacks could have been handled by using a conversation at the dinner table which could then fade out to the flashback scene

BTW...why didn't Boba recruit "Santo" when he had him unchained in "The Streets of Mos Espa" instead of waiting until the following episode?

Yes! Do this once; maybe twice, and move on. Hell, commit an entire episode to them and get them out of the way in one go, but don't mess with pacing like that.

It's strange when the best episodes of a show are the ones that don't include the title character. Bounty Hunters don't make interesting crime lords, especially if they are trying to avoid committing crimes to maintain that role.

"In The Name Of Honor"

Did Luke REALLY send out Grogu out all by himself in an X-WING with R2D2, or did Grogu steal the X-Wing? Either way, it was totally irresponsible. Luke should've gone out after him in the Falcon.

How did Cad Bane know about Boba's bacta tank? There's a spy at Boba's Palace somewhere!

"From The Desert Comes A Stranger"

WHY oh why can't people in this series accept the fact that Grogu can be both Jedi AND Mandalorian?

In "The Return of the Mandalorian", the Armorer said that if a member removes their mask, they can only be redeemed by immersing themselves in the living waters of Mandalore. HOWEVER, if "The Mandalorian" series, in the episode "Sanctuary", Din Djarin said that he removes his mask, he can never put it back on.

WHAT CHANGED?

By John A. Lang (Johnalang) on Monday, May 09, 2022 - 8:28 am:

In "The Return of the Mandalorian", the Armorer said, "You are a Mandalorian no more" because Djarin took off his mask.

Excuse me, Djarin still has the Dark Saber, which means he is the rightful ruler of the sect. He should have told her, "YOU are a Mandalorian no more"

In "The Gathering Storm", Garsa Fwip tells Santo that the days of the gladiator are over and are now seen as acts of cruelty.

Since when have people lost interest in sports?
