well, i'm probably one of the very few people who have heard one much less all 3 of these productions, and since no one's posted here-i'll just say a couple of things about ROTJ.
First of all, it's the shortest one out of the three. ANH(which is called "Star Wars"-which really gets on my nerves) was 13 eps., ESB was 10, and this one's 6! Also, Luke is not voiced by Mark Hamil, but some other young actor-i forget his name. This is a litte strange because at the beginning you hear "luke" talking, and it doesn't sound like luke. It's not until the credits that you know it isn't mark hamil for sure.

In episode three, while the Falcon is speeding away from Tatooine, there's some very amusing banter between Han/Leia, Leia/Lando, and finally Han/Lando. During one of the final exchanges, Lando talks about taking care of the Falcon, and then Han says:

"The way I heard it, you almost wrecked her on Coruscant [CHORUS-CAN'T]."

Heard it from who? By the way, TPM mentions that the Capital city is pronounced "CHORUS-AHNT".

I supose it is a matter of accent, New York as opposed to New Yawk.

Or "Baw-ston" VS. "Bah-ston"

Or just plain inconsistency from Lucas' people. Prior to 1998/99, the games called it "CHORUS-CAN'T" as well.

As did all of the audiobooks.

I always pronounced it with a non-silent C until I saw TPM... I think everyone did.

By the way, in case anybody is interested, that linerefers to incidents from the novel "Shadows of the Empire," which took place between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. A Nice touch. I also loved the whole "You may be darth vader's master, but not anakin skywalker's." sequence. It gave me goosebumps.

I was going to say that sequence gave me goosebumps too, but I think i may have posted that last one back during my 'Anonymous' days. I don't remember.

I thought the Boba fett confrontation in the dungeons was a little strange, but I liked the added touch of Han wanting to 'make sure he's dead' at the Sarlac pit. If these two were as bitter enemies as the confrontation in the dungeon suggested, it seems realistic for Han to do this.

I also liked the part where Leia first meets Wicket, who is then scared away, and she goes around calling "Hello? Little Guy? Endorian?"

P.S. I don't care what TPM says... I still like (Chorus-Cant) better.

"Coruscant" is a real, albeit archaic, word, meaning to gleam or sparkle (like 'Scintillant' - having seen the planet in the prequels, it seems an apt name). According to the Oxford English dictionary, the correct pronunciation is actually 'Corus-Kaant'.

So, now that all 6 movies are out, what say you?
Would the prequels make good radio dramas?
Could they do them as well without Brian Daley?

By Zarm Rkeeg on Wednesday, July 13, 2005 - 3:33 pm:

Just listened to the ROTJ again (finally got in on CD for my birthday.)

In my opinion, many of the moments here (with the deffinite exception of the Rancor scene) are done better than the movie. These include:
The death of Yoda
Corellian overdrive/leaving Tatooine
The sail barge assualt (some better, some worse)
Anakin Skywalker's death (listen to it now, with the prequels out, and try to keep a dry eye.)

Also, some really great lines:
"Primitive war machines? Great, maybe they have a wooden turbolaser around here somewhere."

"No need to shoot... in fact there are some local denizens here who are anxious to meet you..."

"Well, technicaly I brought her back without a scratch... all the scratched parts were knocked off during the battle."

Truly, the entire radio trilogy is a must-hear for any Star Wars fan... if you haven't heard them yet, by all means go and get a copy- you won't regret it!
