By Padawan on Thursday, January 04, 2001 - 12:12 pm:

Hello.

By JD on Thursday, January 04, 2001 - 12:15 pm:

Hi.

By The Shadow on Thursday, January 04, 2001 - 12:16 pm:

Greetings.

By Padawan on Thursday, January 04, 2001 - 12:30 pm:

I knew that was coming. BTW, could someone explain to me what that is a reference to? It was first on the original Art Gallery, then appeared somewhere else... is it all just because of the Art Gallery or did that comes from something beforehand?

Anyway... KAM, Kira, Matt, here's where you can post your pictures.

It's \ image{pic name} only without the space between the slash & image. Also there used to be a 20k limit to the picture size.

Kira's put up page 4 of the art gallery at

http://www.geocities.com/TheLICC/artgallery4.htm

& it has a 2 pics by Jake of Professor Negative & Chronos & 1 by me of Sherman, the Ship's Mouse.

By Matt Pesti on Saturday, January 13, 2001 - 10:42 am:

I opened the first board and wrote it because the title was self expalanatory, we used all of one board for it, and I needed a message. So Hi was what I came up with.

By Padawan on Saturday, January 13, 2001 - 11:39 am:

Actually it was Hello. Hi was what cableface said.

By Keith Alan Morgan (Kmorgan) on Wednesday, January 17, 2001 - 3:50 am:

I started these pics of the Spidermobile several weeks ago & since the second just crashed, thought I'd better hurry up & finish them.

By JD, just figured out how to make the smiley face on Wednesday, January 17, 2001 - 9:47 pm:

Nice pics, KAM. Nice and streamlined. So where's the Polymorph Rifle? :)

By JD on Wednesday, January 17, 2001 - 9:48 pm:

I meant the ship was streamlined, not the pics.

:) :) :) :) :) :-0

By KAM on Thursday, January 18, 2001 - 12:11 am:

I figured it might be in that black opening between the two pincers.
Or maybe it fires out of the pincers?
Or maybe when they need it a hatch opens up and the PR comes out, aims & fires?

The last suggestion seems good for most weapons as they would be concealed & couldn't be accidentally, or intentionally, damaged by being out in the open.

By Evil Rotten Nasty Bad Guy on Thursday, January 18, 2001 - 12:17 am:

Where's the Polymorph Rifle? Why in my hands, of course. Muhahahaha!
(fires)
Now I've just turned JD into DJ and he'll be working the driveby slot on KKAM radio Mondays through Fridays. Muhahahaha!

By Keith Alan Morgan (Kmorgan) on Saturday, January 20, 2001 - 11:43 pm:

Armed & Ready
I was planning to draw so many weapons the Spidermobile would look like a porcupine, but this was easier & it shows that when needed panels open up & allow directional weapons to emerge.

Also on the side of the spider's 'head' (Is there a better way to describe the forward section of the ship?) is a torpedo tube opening that slides out from the ship.

The faceted-eye look is a shielding that can cover the front porthole in times of battle, or during collisions, or crashes.

(The guns aren't necesarily green colored. I just needed a color that stood out from the ship color.)

Vode pic, Pesti! Is it going up on the Art Gallery at Kira's site?

By Padawan on Sunday, February 04, 2001 - 1:00 pm:

Oh, Pesti, I have trouble picturing Cascerot. Could you do a pic of him so I (and others) know what he looks like?

By KAM on Thursday, March 08, 2001 - 5:17 am:

Colanator

The nice thing about drawing a shapeshifter is you can always say he was changing shape when you drew him. ;-)

By Keith Alan Morgan thouroughly ticked off on Friday, March 09, 2001 - 4:31 am:

So much for this board.

Thanks to some clown in Religious Musings, image posting has been discontinued.

By Anonymous on Friday, March 09, 2001 - 4:40 am:

The clown was Peter, and if you know what `Peter' is slang for, he has the perfect name! >:-(

By KAM on Friday, March 09, 2001 - 5:10 am:

I don't know. That organ of the body occasionally serves a useful purpose.

By Padawan on Friday, March 09, 2001 - 1:17 pm:

BF, I never knew you were at the Religious Musings! I take it you were "Another trouble-maker", right? Unless it was Peter...

The only way the name Peter is appropriate is that he never grows up.

By Note to KAM and Pushy P on Friday, March 09, 2001 - 9:47 pm:

I refuse to answer any of this here, Pushy P. Go read one of the other boards we both frequent, in the Kitchen Sink, to find my answers. (Yes, I'm going to make you hunt for the answers!) :)

And KAM? Unless someone else used your characters, thanks for at least making that one post in LICC that had them in it! (If it wasn't you, its at the beginning of the current board}

By Brian Webber on Friday, March 09, 2001 - 9:54 pm:

Look at it this way; at least it's not retroactive. Rikard's fighter and Colanator look cool!

By KAM on Saturday, March 10, 2001 - 6:09 am:

Thanks Brian.

By JD on Saturday, March 10, 2001 - 4:05 pm:

Hey, Colanator looks fantastic. Great job, KAM.

By BF on Sunday, March 11, 2001 - 2:37 am:

I suppose the Colanator pic here will be used at the Archives whenever JD gets around to doing the character file for Colanator, and the pic of Ubermensh is already there. What about the other pics here? Any chance of them getting posted in the Archives? (And is that a toothbrush or a screwdriver above the scissors on the Colanator pic?)

By KAM on Sunday, March 11, 2001 - 3:08 am:

Thanks, JD.

BF, I sent Kira a full size pic of Colanator (this one is half-size) the same day I posted.
The Spidermobile pics are already up at the site. I believe on page 4 of the Art Gallery. You can use the link I posted up near the top to go directly there.

I drew it as a screwdriver, but who knows what Colanator uses to brush his teeth? ;-)

I wanted to add a few more Swiss Army style implements, but I wasn't certain how much room I would end up with & I wanted to get it finished & posted.

By KAM answering a question from Friday on Sunday, March 11, 2001 - 3:14 am:

Oh, who else would think to use those characters as villains anyway?

Also I don't think I've ever admitted to being Lucifer S. Beelzebub before. Although it was the logical assumption since I had admitted to being Hela & Asmodeus.

By KAM on Tuesday, March 20, 2001 - 4:19 am:

My picture of Semper, Frangelica's viridian diamonback snake, is up in the Non-humans section of the LICC Archives Art Gallery.
http://www.geocities.com/TheLICC/artgallery4.htm

And just because we can't post pics here doesn't mean we can't talk about them.

BF, what program did you use to create Rocket Ranger & Kiehart? (I think you said they were 'skins' for the Sims.)

By The Spectre on Tuesday, March 20, 2001 - 1:24 pm:

Hey... didn't Webber do the Kiehart pic?

By Brian Webber, Plagarist on Tuesday, March 20, 2001 - 3:50 pm:

Spectre: Nope. I have not talent when it comes to pictures (go to the Archangel site to see proof of my utter lack of originality. Especially the new Ships section. Vidcaps from Star Trek, screen shots from Wing Commander IV, and a pic by KAM. Nothin original or handmade there.

By BF, explaining his Archives pics. on Tuesday, March 20, 2001 - 4:31 pm:

I used the good old basic Paint program and another painting program called Arcsoft Photostudio Suite 2.0 (it came with a cheap digital camera) to modify some pre-existing Sims skins (they're .bmp files) to create the Rocket Ranger and Kiehart pics. I then imported the skins into the game and used a program called Sims MakeOver to create the pics, by hitting `print screen', pasting the pics into paint, and re-coloring the blue background white. Then I turned them into .jpg files and sent them to the Archives.

The Rocket Ranger pic is as close to perfect as I could get it. For some reason, Sims Makeover doesn't show the hand .bmps. Rocket Ranger's hair is about two shades two dark in the pic, and he should be wearing black gloves. Not to worry; as soon as I find the right mesh (meshes are the Sims' outline\skeleton\muscles; the skin is the flesh and clothes), I'm going to do a pic of RR in his new costume, and I'll paint the hands before I send in the pic!

For Rocket Ranger's pic, the skin was originally a guy in a black leather biker jacket and blue jeans, with no shirt. You can see I repainted it extensively; the jacket's about the only original part of the pic, and I added RR's badge-comm to it! For Kiehart, all I did was paint over the shirt; the skin had a powder blue button-up shirt and a black and red tie.

I'm not going to do a pic of Crimson Crossbow for awhile, mainly because I'm working on some other Sims skins, and also because I'm considering a costume change for her.

By BF, pitching his latest creation on Tuesday, March 20, 2001 - 4:35 pm:

Now please look at the new addition to Nitcentral Adventures....Jack Mightee, Ironjawed Detective!

I'm going to do a Sims pic of him soon. Unfortunately, I won't be able to post it here, thanks to Peter...

By KAM on Wednesday, March 21, 2001 - 1:48 am:

Brian, you should have specified that there was nothing original or handmade by you, as the artists may take exception to their work not being original.

Also, instead of my pic of Grey's Monstrosity, a broken image icon showed instead.

For those wishing a direct link to the ships page http://www.geocities.com/greymoransrevenge/ships/ships.html

BF, I'm guessing those aren't Mac programs.

I sometimes draw my pics on paper then scan in to be finished in Adobe Photoshop 5.

Sometimes I use a bitmap program like SuperPaint 2, then copy it into Photoshop to finish.

Once in while the pic is all done in Photoshop.

By KAM on Wednesday, March 21, 2001 - 1:50 am:

Why do the links work sometimes when I just paste them in, but not other times. Sheesh!

By Brian Webber on Wednesday, March 21, 2001 - 2:12 am:

Also, instead of my pic of Grey's Monstrosity, a broken image icon showed instead.

That's GeoCities for ya'. Just hold down Shift then click Refresh once or twice. That usually does it.

By BF on Wednesday, March 21, 2001 - 3:05 am:

KAM: Nope, those aren't Mac programs. I have a four-year old PC. Its a 64mb Pentium II equivalent with only a 6gb Hard Drive. The processor is only 333mhz. I'm thinking of buying a 30-40gb hard drive, which I can afford, but I'm currently unemployed, or I'd just buy a new computer instead. I also need a 3d accelerator card, because I want to try Everquest. (I tried Ultima Online, and it was awful! I had a 30-day free trial, and I quit playing after less than two weeks!)

Webber: KAM's right. You do need to add those notices to your pics.

By Brian Webber on Wednesday, March 21, 2001 - 9:42 pm:

http://www.geocities.com/greymoransrevenge/ships/ships.html Maybe the link will workj this time, eh KAM? Well, anyway, I'll think of something. I always do.

By Padawan on Tuesday, March 27, 2001 - 1:12 pm:

Recently I made pictures of two of my Phantom Returns characters, Em-and-En and TAXES, but it looks like they ain't going anywhere...

By BF on Friday, June 01, 2001 - 10:02 am:

Hey, KAM!

I was wondering if you would mind if I used some of your LICC artwork for some Sims items that I want to put on a website I'm starting. People will be able to download these items to use in the game.

I've already made a Commander Milkshake t-shirt skin, but only JD, Nawdle & myself have it.

You WILL get credit for the artwork in the text file I'll include. :)

And do you know who made the LICC logo at the Archives? I want to put up some t-shirt skins I made with the logo on it.

By KAM on Sunday, June 03, 2001 - 6:02 am:

I know Sims skins are used in The Sims, but I'm not too sure what all of this would entail.

If you mean the initials LICC over the oval, Kira designed that. (I do consider the banner I did for the LICC Art Gallery to be a logo, but I doubt anyone would want that on a shirt.)

By Electron on Wednesday, June 06, 2001 - 7:07 pm:

Comments wanted! Some interesting images of the mighty Spidership are here. Does the ship have a "neck" between the main hull and the bridge module or not? And does the Polymorph cannon fire beams or something different?

By BF on Wednesday, June 06, 2001 - 8:46 pm:

Interesting pictures, Electron.

Just curious....what does "galilkalasch" mean in English? "Galaxy Last"?

By BF on Wednesday, June 06, 2001 - 9:03 pm:

Okay, Reddo asked me how to make Sims skins.

First, you need to read a couple of tutorials at one of my favorite websites, the Skindex. I recommend reading the message board (Under "Forums", at the top), too. You can read the messages, but you'll have to register with EzBoard in order to post anything. If you register, which is free, choose a Global account. Just remember that you have the same name on ALL EzBoards, unless you register more than one account.

http://www.skindex.net/main.htm

Go there and look at the far right site of the screen. You should see several categories listed in yellow, with light blue links underneath. Look at the "Skinning" section, and read the "Basic Skinning" and "Faces" tutorials. That should help some.

Next, go to Simfreaks. http://simfreaks.com

Under skins, go to "Default Replacements" and download the basic nude and swimsuit skins (the nude skins don't have any naughty bits. They're blank). You want to Unzip these to a directory you can remember the name of easily. DON'T Unzip them into the game! You use these as templates for your skins. You'll want to save the skins as 256 color bmps to work with, though, or the colors in your paint program won't work properly. But save them back to 24-bit bmps when you're done, or they won't show up in the game right. And make sure you change the name when you save so you don't write over and lose the template!

You'll need the Facelift, Character MakeOver and Sims Show programs. You can get them at The Sims Resource. http://www.thesimsresource.com

Make sure you move the .exe file for the MakeOver program into the Sims directory, or the MakeOver program will crash a lot. Its a bug Maxis refused to fix, and they even took the program down from their site instead of fixing it. Moving the .exe file is a MUST!

By the way, for some reason Hand files don't show up in Sims Show or MakeOver, so if a skin has different colored hands or gloves, they'll have normal colored hands when you look at them in those programs, but will have the gloves or different colored hands in-game. (My Darth Maul skin I downloaded from 7DS is a dark skin. It has black gloves in-game, but in MakeOver, he has brown hands)

By Reddo on Thursday, June 07, 2001 - 1:44 am:

Thanks a lot BF, I'll just copy this text onto notepad ot something

By KAM on Thursday, June 07, 2001 - 2:11 am:

I like the Happy Face, Electron. :)

By KAM on Thursday, June 07, 2001 - 2:38 am:

BF, looks like I forgot to mention in my June 3 post that I've never played The Sims and that I wanted some info on the game.

Also is it just an appearance that someone uses on a character or what?

And what wording would you be using in the text file?
I think generally something like Original artwork of (Character) is Copyright of (Artist) and is used with (his/her) permission.

By BF on Thursday, June 07, 2001 - 1:34 pm:

KAM, follow these instructions. Its easier if I just show you.

1. Go this site. http://grantnjaysskinconditioner.terrashare.com/

2. Download any of the items shown (they're .sit files. I hope you can open them), open them (Un-sit them?), and look at the picture files in one of your art programs. The head and body pictures are skins. They wrap around the .skn and .cmx files, which are meshes. Meshes are what gives the skin its shape. Otherwise, you would just have flat skins!

You're correct on your summation of the text file wording.

Go here to take a look at some of my work:

http://simsheadzup.homestead.com

Hit the big, blue button to go in. And feel free to go back and sign the guestbook on the entrance page afterward. :)

They're .zip files, so don't download anything. I don't think you could open them.

By BF on Thursday, June 07, 2001 - 1:36 pm:

The menu at the site I told you about is over to the left. They made a bad choice of putting black text on a dark background, so its hard to read. Hurry, though. That site will be gone soon, because Terrashare is going out of business!

By Keith Alan Morgan (Kmorgan) on Friday, June 08, 2001 - 5:05 am:

The only thing at the first site was a title & an advertising banner.

Your site caused my browser to crash.

I use a Mac so I don't if I could open .sit or .zip files either.

I know some 3D artists online & they use terms like mesh & nurb & other strange things. (I have enough trouble with 2D art, so while I admire their work the lingo baffles me.)

Ah, well. I guess it would be okay if you made some skins from my work.
Let me know which pictures you are using. (I like to keep track of my art.)
Send a copy of the completed things to MorganArt@MailAndNews.com

By BF on Friday, June 08, 2001 - 11:31 am:

No problem. The only artwork I'm going to be using right now is the Commander Milkshake picture.

By Electron on Tuesday, June 12, 2001 - 6:04 pm:

A few new pics are here.

By BF on Wednesday, June 13, 2001 - 3:16 am:

Electron, those pictures are pretty good. I especially like the pics of the mk.4 spidership. (Which isn't going to exist for a long time, I bet)

How about doing a Mantisship? Quantum Torpedo and Missile Launchers should be in the claws.

If only I could describe the SnowCrane and ThunderWolf! I'd love to see what you could do with those!

By Electron on Wednesday, June 13, 2001 - 1:35 pm:

The "Mk" only indicates the process of drawing, not the different ships. I'm still playing with various tweaks for the legs etc. (New pics there!). It really looks now like a dangerous spider.

Are there any suggestions for coloring, markings, attachments and weapons? Y'all probably don't want a big turret on the back of the ship... ;)

By Klassikos on Tuesday, June 19, 2001 - 12:18 pm:

The ramship pic is very nice, however, it should look more like a Terrestrial ship, and have three small nacelles down each side.

By Electron on Tuesday, June 19, 2001 - 9:15 pm:

What do you mean precisely with "like a Terrestrial ship"? I tried to put two old Greek ships together for this first draft to make it look more symmetric and futuristic. And where do you want your nacelles placed?

By Electron on Tuesday, June 19, 2001 - 9:23 pm:

Brian, did you see the first draft for the Banshee? Any suggestions?

By BF on Wednesday, June 20, 2001 - 4:02 am:

I've finally, finally, FINALLY found some ships to use as the base for the design of the SnowCrane! :)

Anyone here read Star Wars Gamer? They're in the current (I think) issue, # 4. In an article called "Ships Of The Smuggler's Alliance".

By Klassikos on Wednesday, June 20, 2001 - 12:12 pm:

The nacelles are down the sides, one above the other above the other. I was inspired by the placement of the oars on the Greek triremes.

I meant it looked more like a single Greek ship, than two put together. But I just realised... this is seen from the side and not the top! OK (Omega-Kappa), that is closer to my visions. But those sticking-out things at the top and bottom, I think should go.

By Klassikos on Wednesday, June 20, 2001 - 12:15 pm:

In short, keep the basic design, I like it.

By Padawan on Wednesday, June 20, 2001 - 1:01 pm:

I have done my own picture of how PD Insane's new ship looks. I'll probably send it to thelicc.

By Electron on Sunday, June 24, 2001 - 4:06 pm:

Klassikos, there are a few new pics out there...

By Klassikos on Monday, June 25, 2001 - 12:52 am:

Very nice! The "New design" looks more like I saw it than the "And even better" though. But keep the green color from before!

By Electron on Sunday, July 01, 2001 - 4:09 pm:

Not yet colored, but looking more like an ancient ship than a 747...

By Kira Sharp on Wednesday, August 29, 2001 - 3:30 pm:

Hey, Sarah (and everybody) before you disappear...

http://www.geocities.com/thelicc/LICCpix/Image.JPG

I'm not happy with the hands or the hair, but I'm a little rusty. Next time I'll do the hair in Photoshop and see if I can get a little more control.

P.S. KAM... please stay...

By ScottN on Wednesday, August 29, 2001 - 3:33 pm:

Really nice picture of a Cingular ad...

By Kira Sharp on Wednesday, August 29, 2001 - 3:40 pm:

Mrrrrphgrphl....

Go to http://www.geocities.com/thelicc/Artsy.html and see if that works.

By ScottN on Wednesday, August 29, 2001 - 5:37 pm:

That worked.

By MarkN on Wednesday, August 29, 2001 - 9:06 pm:

Kira, I didn't know you were an artist. That's a pretty good drawing. Do you draw a lot or just when the mood hits you or what? Have you ever had a live figure drawing class? They're pretty interesting. If you haven't but try it sometime maybe you'll be as lucky as Ally McBeal was, at least as far as drawing the same sort of model that she did. I don't remember if you're married or not, so if you are I hope your hubby ain't the jealous type, even if you tell him, "Honey, I'm only drawing him. Nothing else."

By Kira Sharp on Thursday, August 30, 2001 - 7:04 am:

I'm not! J
Thank you. It's OK... I could do better on the hands and feet.

1. Whenever I have time, which is close to never. Yesterday I happened to be waiting for a remote team to dial in... they were late and I couldn't leave the conference room, so I drew to pass the time.

2. No. I'm really not very good, so I pity the model who'd have to pose long enough for me to draw. When I want something to look like someone, I work from photographs.

3. Mrphrplhgigglegigglegiggle. I think not. It's against my religious principles to view *those* kinds of models. We can discuss this more on teh Religious Musings board if you like, so everyone else can chime in and tell us we're going to hell. J

4. Hubby is not the jealous type, thank you for asking. (This is not made difficult for him. See #3.)

By Klassikos on Saturday, September 29, 2001 - 9:32 am:

For the ramship I suggest you color your latest version in the same green as the first, and send it in to the LICC Archive Site.

As for me myself... well, in non-armor appearance I am about 5ft and stocky-looking, wearing a Greek tunic (not a 'toga' as my author seemed to call it) and with a leather (or similar-looking) belt with a sheath on it (for the sword).

In armor appearance about 6½ft wearing armor like that worn at Troy and with a plumed helmet. (and a sword as well)

By Electron on Saturday, September 29, 2001 - 10:50 am:

Because the NBCI homepage is down I went to Geocities. Look here for the work in progress. Maybe I can find some time to use something like povray for the models...

By Electron on Monday, October 01, 2001 - 9:21 pm:

In armor appearance about 6½ft wearing armor like that worn at Troy and with a plumed helmet. (and a sword as well)

Hm, do you have seen the title picture from "Age of Empires"?

By Klassikos on Tuesday, October 02, 2001 - 11:12 am:

No, I haven't. At least, not to my knowledge.

I forgot to mention - comparatively wide (as opposed to tall) head, short, straight black hair, clean shaven. Although, it might be intersting if he had a beard while in armor-mode.

By Electron on Thursday, October 04, 2001 - 9:31 am:

By Klassikos on Saturday, October 06, 2001 - 11:43 am:

Yes, that looks similar enough, but without the cape or the untidy hair.

By KAM on Thursday, January 10, 2002 - 1:01 am:

For those LICC posters who can't draw there is the Hero Machine at http://www.heromachine.com/heromachine.html

Apparently you have to do a screen dump to save your image (Command-Shift-3 on a Mac, don't know about other 'putors). If you have an art program like Adobe Photoshop you can crop the image & Save As a jpg or gif to send to the Archives.

By KAM on Monday, October 14, 2002 - 7:23 am:

Well, until the pics can be put up at the Archives I've found a temporary place to put my LICC pics. It's mostly for College Roomies From Hell!!! fanart (which I've done), but the guy who created it, Bryann, had a section for Other Art as well.

The infamous, full-size Cheeseburger Pattie pic
Scott Free
The Great Emancipator
The Artsy-Fartsy Color Chart
The evil Sailor Good
The good Sailor Evil
Shadow Senshi

Warning! I just might have gone the teensiest bit overboard in these next two pictures. ;-)
Enesku saying hi
Donna going Kaioblonde

By The Male Demographic, 18 to Dead on Monday, October 14, 2002 - 10:03 am:

Was it cold in the room when Donna posed for that picture?

By Enesku on Monday, October 14, 2002 - 2:06 pm:

KAM, that picture looks nothing like me. I do not looklike I've eaten too may hamburgers.

(punches KAM in the jaw causing him to spiral over a few times)

By KAM on Tuesday, October 15, 2002 - 4:41 am:

The Donna pic... hmmm... Pesti once said she looked like Tifa Lockheart & when I came across a pic of the character (I think it was a fan drawing) I cracked up because the breasts were so laughably huge. And then I remembered that when Donna goes kaioblonde they were supposed to get even bigger. That's when I had the idea for that pic. (I think it's funny.)

Enesku, part of the problem is that the pic features extreme perspective, so some parts look big because they are closer to the viewer.
The other problem is that I tried for weeks to figure out how to do this pic & finally gave up because I couldn't make it work, then I came across a pic of a character in nearly the same pose I wanted, (Domino, from X-Force, either drawn by Rob Liefield or in his style) and used that for a reference, so the pic looks more like an Image Comics girl than my mental image.
I did try to reduce the size of the breasts, but by the time I had noticed they were oversized I had already drawn, inked & scanned in the pic.
Not really fond of the hair either. It's supposed to look like it's flowing out behind her, but instead looks like it's sticking straight up.

A kinda-sorta LICC Pic.

College Roomies From Hell!!! dressed as members of LICC

Roger's personality is similar to Mr. Absurd's.

Margaret was most like Taquitoboy, but Margaret doesn't really look much like a boy. I considered Enesku, but Margaret is more into guns than spears, so I had her dress up like Ensign First & her big gun.

Dave is Robot Redshirt because he has this tendency to die and come back. ;-)

April recently became glamorous & admitted an attraction to Mike, which ticked off Mike's girlfriend Marsha, so April is Hamburger Pattie, Mike is Tacoman, and Marsha is Butrfli upset at April dressing like Tacoman's ex-girlfriend. ;-)
