The Mind of Evil: The Hunt For Jake Grey Part Twelve

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: L.I.C.C.: The Archangel Trilogy: The Hunt For Jake Grey: The Mind of Evil: The Hunt For Jake Grey Part Twelve
By Brian Webber on Friday, March 01, 2002 - 2:02 pm:

The week passed quickly for the excited crw. The lack of battles and the inactive Jake Grey had made for an easy repair of the Archangel. Soon the ship was 100% operational. Greymoran decided it would further boost the crew's spirit to have a ceremony dedicating the new warp core (it had to be scrapped and replaced after the last battle). He shattered a bottle of wine over the force field surrounding the core itself, and everyone except Hudzen and Sorik cheered and began sipping from their wine glasses. Sorik merely sipped his Vulcan tea while Hudzen watched the crew have their small party. Carie's face was on all the small screen throughout engineering, not drinking anything, but wearing a party hat. Suddenly her face vanished then reappeared. "Sorry to break up the flow loves, but the dimensional incursion alert jsut went off. Someone just left this universe and went to B5U37." "37? I didn't know there was a B5U37 under our jurisdiction." "Well it isn't. Not yet anyway. Some XDPs were setting up shop there. The XDCA doesn't have any connections to any of that universe's governemnts yet, so our appearence and whomever the intruder is is going to shake things up quite a bit." Greymoran sighs heavily. "Well, it was bound not to last, but the break was good for us. Battle stations everyone. We're going to have to move out ASAP."

By Hudzen on Saturday, March 02, 2002 - 12:13 pm:

Hudzen looked up as the red alert klaxons. The rest of the crew would be on the Archangel's bridge. Hudzen walked over to the tactical console and began running checks through the system, making sure they were ready. A red light flashing on Jackson's console caught Hudzen's attention. He walked over to the console. It was some kind of an alert. Hudzen activated. Information scrolled on the screen. It was an automatic alert from the LICC universe that Jackson had set up in the event that...

Hudzen, to Mr. Dupree. I need to speak with you.

By Jackson Dupree on Saturday, March 02, 2002 - 1:20 pm:

Hudzen, I'll be right up.
Jackson, who has been down in Engineering doing a last inspection run on the engines, heads up to the bridge and goes over to Hudzen.
What did you want to talk to me about?

By Hudzen on Sunday, March 03, 2002 - 12:16 am:

Jackson, your console received an alert from the LICC universe. Your brother, Captain Tacoman...

Hudzen paused.

As you know, one of the programs that you set up when you first came onboard the Archangel monitors the cybersuits of your LICC colleagues. If something happens to them, you automatically receive a signal informing you. You have received a signal.

By Jackson Dupree, shocked and suprised on Sunday, March 03, 2002 - 6:22 am:

Thanks, Hudzen.
Jackson goes over to look at his console and begins to read. He gives a startled yelp and sits in his chair heavily in shock.
My god... Hudzen, have you informed Greymoran yet?

By Hudzen on Sunday, March 03, 2002 - 1:06 pm:

Hudzen shakes his head.
No, I believed it best that you know first.

By Brian Webber on Sunday, March 03, 2002 - 1:45 pm:

Carrie's voice comes over the link in Jackson's helmet. "It's not a good idea to tell him now. He needs to focus on the missiosn at hand. Were in B5U37 now, and I'm tracking the incursion. We'll also have to power down and go silent running. Like I said, the natives don't really know about us, so we need to be careful not to expose ourselves until it becomes absolutely neccesary."

By Jackson Dupree on Sunday, March 03, 2002 - 1:50 pm:

Ok.. I'll tell him later. Hopefully, they'll have a memorial service of some sort, and hopefully we can attend.

By Ahz on Sunday, March 03, 2002 - 4:04 pm:

Sometimes the safest place to hide is in plain sight.

Everyone turned towards the Vorlon Encounter Suit standing in the bridge. The suit than began to fold itself up, revealing Ahz. When the suit finished, you couldn't even see it.

This outfit could prove usefull.

By Brian Webber on Sunday, March 03, 2002 - 5:47 pm:

Greymoran entered the bridge. "Sorik tells me we went throguh the portal with no trouble. Any information on the location of the incursion?" Carrie's face replaces the stars on the viewscreen. "I have a general idea. The extra-dimensional sensors place the unknown portal near Narn space. I've also monitored the local communication arrays. Somethign has got all the Narn's neighbors riled up. Some unidentified ships destoryed all the detection satellites along the Narn border, and they're blaming the Centauri. Figures. Looks like this B5 universe is in 2258. That's when the babylon 5 station first went on-line. Looks like Ahz's suit won't work becuase the Minbari are the only ones who've seen Vorlon encounter suits, at least that'll be ture for the next few days if my timer is correct."

By Jackson Dupree, trying to maintain his composure on Sunday, March 03, 2002 - 8:25 pm:

I guess I should be getting to my station.
He goes over to the secondary science station and sits down. He still looks stunned and sad, but eventually composes himself.
Ready, sir.

By Brian Webber on Wednesday, March 06, 2002 - 11:33 pm:

"We're nearing the site of the destoryed arrays. I think we should analyze the energy readings, see if we can gauge what we're up against." Carrie said. Gryemoran nododed. "No sense in rushing blindly into a situationa gian. We almost din't make it past the other one. Jackson, Rita is still not ready to return to duty yet. Take the helm, and keep an eye out. I'd rather not get seen by anyone, even possible friendlies. Remember, we're intruders here too."

By Jackson Dupree on Thursday, March 07, 2002 - 6:23 am:

Aye, sir. After this is over, I'd like to talk to you about the LICC universe...
Jackson sits at the helm, ready for any action that comes his way.

By Brian Webber on Thursday, March 07, 2002 - 1:06 pm:

Greymoran sighs. "We've involed them far too many times. Everytime we bring them in on something like this they becoem a target for Grey, and I'm not comfortable with the idea of putting my son, my daughter-in-law, and my grandchildren in danger like that."

By Jackson Dupree on Thursday, March 07, 2002 - 1:45 pm:

This time, it involves their own people, and from what I've read, we can't do anything. Like I said, I'll show you what I found after we've found the incursions.

By Brian Webber on Monday, March 11, 2002 - 1:12 pm:

The analysis went buy fairly quickly, especially with Ahxz back on board now. He claled the bridge from his lab. "It looks like phaser fire. Standard STU weaponry sir. It's possible Grey's Galaxy-class cruiser could be here." Greymoran nods. "OK. I'm not worried. This time we're ready for him. Did you get anythign else?" "Yes sir, and partial image bruned into one of the visual recorders for one of the destoryed satellites. It looks like two, possibly three SWU Troop transports."

By Ahz on Monday, March 11, 2002 - 3:41 pm:

Well, astrometrics detected an inhabited planet a few light years from here. Initial scans have deteced humans and a small number of ships in orbit. I was going to head over and check it out. Don't worry, I'll be careful.

A few moments later, a Module appeared next to the Archangel. Inside, Ahz appeared to be sitting in empty space wearing a pecular looking headband.

Ahz: "Module, plot a course towards the planet and engage stealth mode."
Module: "Course plotted. Stealth engaged."

The Module appeared to vanish from the Archangel's sensors. A minor ion wash appeared as the craft leapt to warp, but that was it.

Ahz to Archangel. Initial scans have not detected any extradimensional craft, but I have detected some odd readings in orbit. Possibly cloaked ships, but I'm not sure about that. I'm going to make planetfall as soon as possible and look around there.

Module: "Excuse me, sir. But a shuttle is making it's final atmospheric approach."
Ahz: "Very good. Match course and speed, and maintain a reletive distance of five meters."
Module: "Rodger."

The Module followed the shuttle into the atmosphere. Although the Module wouldn't be able to hide its entry into the atmosphere, its close proximaty to the shuttle would hide it from any sensors. After they had slowed to a safe speed, the Module and the shuttle parted ways.

The Module gently landed in the ocean and sank, barly making any disturbance at all. Meanwhile, Ahz stepped out of an unoccupied bathroom stall, dressed in similar styles as the locals.

By Brian Webber on Monday, March 11, 2002 - 10:46 pm:

Carrie's face appeared on screen abruptly. "Sir! We just interecepted a tranmission from ISN. Unknown ships are attacking the Narn homeworld! I cna get a live feed." The screen shifts to a Galaxy-class cruiser firing torpedoes at defense platforms, fighters, and warships, while a massive swarm of SWU Troop Transports ehad for the surface. "Oh hell." Gryemoran muttered taking his chair. "Jackson, Wapr 9, forget silent running. It's too late to worry about hiding right now. Carrie, get Ahz back here if you can."

By Ahz on Tuesday, March 12, 2002 - 12:13 am:

Ryo-O interupted the conversation.

Ryo-O: "Excuse me, but I have a message from Ahz, audio only."

There was a click, and then Ahz's voice was heard.

I will meet you at the Narn homeworld as soon as I can.
Greymoran: "What will you be doing on the planet?"
Damage control.

Ryo-O: "End transmission."

Meanwhile, Ahz was inside the planetary communications center typing furiously on his computer. All the doors were locked, but he didn't use the door to get in. He was relaying communications through the Module to Ryo-O.

Did you intercept that distress signal?

Ryo-O: "I did. I have scrambled the video signal relay. All the locals will get is the audio transmission."

Good job. I'm sending fleet orders to increase patrols, but no Earthforce ships are actually going to respond until after the action is over.

I want you to hold position 1 million km above the planet's orbital plain. I'll meet you as soon as I'm finished here.

Ryo-O: "Ok. I'll see you soon."

By Jackson Dupree, hopefuly making sense on Tuesday, March 12, 2002 - 6:45 am:

Right, sir.
Jackson deftly presses a number of buttons. In an instant, the ship goes off silent running and streaks towards it's target at Warp 9.
Want me to handle the weapons from here, too?
Are we able to fire our weapons at warp? Specifically, the torpedoes?
What we can do is to fire when we're in range, do some damage, and then drop out of warp and join the party. That way, they'll have their shields down, or at least, at a weak point...

By Lt Commander Sorik on Tuesday, March 12, 2002 - 12:40 pm:

Torpedoes can be fired at warp because their construction enables them to travel faster than lightspeed.

By Hudzen on Tuesday, March 12, 2002 - 3:18 pm:

There is no need Mr. Dupree. I have weapons and tactical handled.

By Brian Webber on Tuesday, March 12, 2002 - 3:32 pm:

Greymoran nods at Sorik, who heads back to engineering to monitor things down there. Keith and Rita are still in their quarters, having been given temporary leave from their duties. Greymoran sighs. "As soon as we drop out of warp begin evasive manuevers. We need to destroy as many of the Transports as we can. We also need to find out what's on them and if we can take care fo them from up here, or if we have to go planet bound to help out." Jackson tunrs around. "It's possible a number of the transports have already made planetfall." "I know, and there's not much we can do about them for the time being."

By Jackson Dupree on Friday, March 15, 2002 - 4:17 pm:

Sir, we're almost to the point of battle. I'm dropping us out of warp.
Jackson deftly does so and begins to take the ship into evasive manuevers.
Ok Hudzen, it's all yours!

By Lt Commander Sorik on Friday, March 15, 2002 - 4:29 pm:

Sorik opens a channel to the bridge down in engineering so he can eavesdrop in on the conversation and see if he can contribute anything, while still monitoring the warp drive systems at close range

By Brian Webber on Friday, March 15, 2002 - 6:43 pm:

Greymoran nods. "Carrie, I want to open up the EVA suit locker, and program them for normal gravity use. Also open up the weapons locker, authorization Greymoran Kappa Gamma Three Seven." jackson turns to look at him. "If any of those transports have made landfall we'll have to go to gorund to fight whatever's on them Shooting from up there the risk of collaterel damage is too high."

By Jackson Dupree, doing some fancy flying on Friday, March 15, 2002 - 8:16 pm:

Jackson, watching the sensors as he pilots, notices several ships firing the Archangel's way.
Hold on, folks. this could get interesting.
Jackson touches the controls, and the Archangel goes into a barrel roll, barely avoiding a proton torpedo. He turns the ship to a hard starboard to avoid hitting a troop transport.
Hudzen, can you get a lock on that troop transport? I can try and get as close as I can to them!

By Brian Webber on Friday, March 15, 2002 - 10:15 pm:

"Thos proton torps can only hurt our sheilds in large numbers Jackson ignore them. Those things are bulky so targetting them should be no trouble whatsoever." As if on cue, Jackson lines up behind a Transport and Hudzen fires two phaser bursts at it. One misses but the other hits, sending the steel gray colored craft into a deadly spin off into space. Suddenly the Archangel shudders. "Report!" Greymoran shouts. "The Galaxy-class cruiser got a phase rlock on us. Sheilds down by 15%," Hudzen replied.

By Hudzen on Saturday, March 16, 2002 - 12:08 am:

Another direct hit will destroy the Archangel.

Captain, if we are forced to avoid Grey's Galaxy-Class starship, I do not believe that we will be able to destroy every troop transport before they enter the atmosphere and land to deploy troops. Even if Grey were not here, the task would prove to be difficult at best.

By Jackson Dupree on Saturday, March 16, 2002 - 6:41 am:

Hudzen, try and reverse shield polarity while I attempt to make a break for it!

By Ahz on Saturday, March 16, 2002 - 1:36 pm:

A multi-colored swirl of energy appeared over a large portion of the Galaxy-Class ship's engineering section. When the light faded, a large portion of the engineering section was gone.

Ryo-O dropped out of warp and flew by the crippled Galaxy-Class ship and continued towards the planet. The backwash of her engines sent the Galaxy Class floating off into deep space.

Ahz to Greymoran. I'm making a run on the transports.

By Jackson Dupree on Saturday, March 16, 2002 - 3:30 pm:

That did it! Thank you Ahz!
Under Jackson's command, the Archangel roars away from the crippled ship, just avoiding another torpedo.
Sir, we've got a cloaking device on this thing, right? So let's make use of it. We can use a hit and run defence...uncloaking, firing, and then cloaking again. I can make sure we're not in the same spot twice.

By Brian Webber on Saturday, March 16, 2002 - 6:55 pm:

Jake Grey got up off the floor of the now badly shuddering cruiser. "Dammit! Ryo-O must die!" TorGal, sensing that his leader will be too angry to make decisions for the next few moments, begins tapping on a console nearby. The forward thrusters start pushing the ship backwards. He opens a portal, and fires a barrage of torpedoes at the Archangel as she starts to come in for a finishing attack run. Archangel swerves to avoid the hastily targetted shot, and doesn't get hit, but her primary firing arc is pointed away from the cruiser now. The ship drifts through the portal, the portal closes, and the Archangel and Ryo-O are left to pick off the few remianing transports in orbit.

"Dammit! Dammit, dammit, dammit! Grey got away AGAIN!" Greymoran pounded the side of his chair. Jackson graoned. "More bad news sir. Half the transports made planetfall. They landed in very rocky areas. Between them being powered down, the terrain, and the weather I cna't get a solid lock on them." Carrie's face appeared on screen. "Oh it gets worse. I did a complete scan of several of the transports. Their cargo? Mind Flayers?" Greymoran's face went gaunt. "Please tell me you're kidding." "Would I joke about such a thing? What do you people think of me?" Hudzen hangs his head, looking as woorried as a robot can. Jackson looks confused. "What, exactly, are Mind Flayers?"

By Jackson Dupree on Saturday, March 16, 2002 - 7:17 pm:

Wait a minute... back in the 20th century, I knew a bunch of people who played a game called "Dungeons and Dragons" and various variations thereof...
One of the monsters to fight were Mind Flayers... aren't they the critters that su-uk brains?

By Brian Webber on Saturday, March 16, 2002 - 10:06 pm:

Greymoran nods. "In addition to being able to paralyze people and mind control the partiuclary weak-minded. It's entirely possible that if they haven't eaten all the Narn they've come acorss yet, they're using them as slave soldiers. Good thing I ordered the EVA suits ready. The can protect us from the high gravity and the weather, but hopefully it'll keep the Flayers from hitting us with their paralyzers." He hits a button on his chair's arm. "Keith, Rita, report to the bridge, stat." He let's go of the button then stands up. "Sorik, report to the bridge as well. Jackson, power up the shuttle. Hudzen and I will meet you down there. Carrie, send a message to Ahz. Tell him to either stay with the Angel, or come down to the surface with us. Hudzen, grab the suits and the weapons out of the weapons locker. Phaser rifles oughta cut it. Take them to the shuttle bay, and have Jackson suit up."

By Jackson Dupree, ready to fight on Sunday, March 17, 2002 - 5:32 am:

Aye sir.
Jackson rushes down to the shuttlebay, puts on an EVA suit, enters a shuttle, and gets it warmed up. He also connects his Cybersuit to the EVA suit.

By Jackson Dupree, bearer of bad news on Monday, March 18, 2002 - 7:07 am:

Soon after, Hudzen and Greymoran arrive and begin suiting up. Jackson goes over to Greymoran and says...
Sir, before we go down, I want to talk to you...
A little while ago, I received a report from my sensors in the LICC universe. It seems they were battling an old enemy named Darth Terror. During the battle, the Spidership was heavily damaged, and Commander Adon was killed. It seems he was mentally linked to Darth Terror and that was the only way to stop him.
Jackson pauses and looks like he has more to say.

By Brian Webber on Monday, March 18, 2002 - 12:56 pm:

Greymoran sighs. "I never really knew Adon. The XDCA's dealings with the Wanderers were rare at best. I think it's safe to say I know Ahz better than I know any other Wanderer in existence, and I don't know him that well at all." Greymoran notice the look in Jakcson's eyes. "There's something else isn't there?"

By Jackson Dupree, bearer of really bad news on Monday, March 18, 2002 - 2:30 pm:

Jackson looks over to Hudzen, who nods. Jackson sighs and says
There was one other casuality during the battle...Captain Tacoman was massively injured during the battle...Sir, Jackson Dupree Tacoman, Captain of the Spidership, is dead.
Hudzen and Carrie didn't want me to tell you while we were searching for those incursions because it would distract you. I had to tell you at some point, so that when and if they contacted us about a memorial service, it wouldn't come as a total shock..
There was something else...a little bit after my sensors registered his death, there was a flury of Q activity, an odd transdimensional reading, and Tacoman reappeared...but from what I can tell, it's a Tacoman from another dimension...
And the Q activity? The strange thing is that it seemed to be coming from Commander Milkshake...

By Brian Webber on Monday, March 18, 2002 - 3:24 pm:

Greymoran simply freezes in place, not showing any signs he ehard what Jackson said, or any emotion whatsoever. He simply blinks once, then returns to his chair, sits down and just stares ahead. Carrie's face comes on-screen and explains, just as Keith and Rita exit the turbolift. "It's a wziard thing. When a wizard of his power and his order receives such news as the death of a child the mind simply retreates into itself to cope, while the body simply returns to a position of comfort, in Gryemoran's case being in the command chair, and simply stays there until he comes to terms with what you told him. Keith gasps. Rita's upper lip waivers. "Hi-his son, is dead?" Jackson nods, looking sad. Keith walks over and puts a hand on his shoulder. "Jackson, I'm so sorry."

By Jackson Dupree on Monday, March 18, 2002 - 4:58 pm:

Jackson looks over at Keith and then down at Greymoran with a worried look on his face
You were right, Carrie. I'm glad I didn't tell him when we were looking for the incursions. I just hope I didn't make things worse for the people on the planet.
Thanks, Keith. I, for one hope he died bravely.
Would there be any way to arm a torpedo and target it at the mind flayers themselves and nothing else?
I suppose we should send our condolences to the Spidership, too...
In fact...
Jackson goes over to the communicator and sends a brief message to the Spidership.

By Brian Webber on Tuesday, March 19, 2002 - 12:20 pm:

The image of Carrie's head shook side to side. "It's like Greymoran said. The terrain and the weather and the possibility of hitting outlying villages make it practically impossible. I'm going to send a message to Ahz, and tell him to get his ass down to that planet to help you. I think since Greymoran suggested the shuttle instead of the transporter he may want you to make an attack run on the gorunded transports to prevent escape before landing. You better hurry. According to my calculations the Flayers will reach a major city in less than two hours at their current rate of speed."

By Jackson Dupree on Tuesday, March 19, 2002 - 3:23 pm:

Makes sense, Carrie.
Anybody want to go with me?

By Jackson Dupree, in an abreviated battle scene on Saturday, March 23, 2002 - 5:44 am:

Jackson regards the silence from the rest of the crew, which has seemed to go on for days. He takes it as a "no".
Then I guess I'll just have to go myself...
With that, Jackson goes back down to the shuttlebay, takes the LICC shuttle, and heads down to the planet. Without boring the reader with a lot of battle action, Jackson manages to destroy many of the transports, damages the rest of them, and takes a minimum of damage himself. He makes a second pass, destroying the already damaged ones. He then calls the Archangel, saying
Well, I've managed to take out the transports, but whether there's Mind Flayers on the loose elsewhere, I don't know.

By Brian Webber on Saturday, March 23, 2002 - 1:30 pm:

Hudzen, heavily armed, was in the shuttle with Jackson. "Greymoran was correct not to use transporters. The interference from the weather and what not would've made it difficult and dangerous." He points out the window. "There. That smoke cloud coming from that village." Carrie's voice came over the shuttle's comm system. "Be careful down there guys. Gryemoran was going to go with you until he was incapacitated, and even with your suit, those Mind Flayers can still kill you if they get too clsoe Jackson. Let Hudzen take point."

By Hudzen on Monday, March 25, 2002 - 8:23 pm:

Be ready Jackson, they will undoubtedly see our shuttle approaching. It will not be an entrance of stealth.

There is a slight tremor as the shuttle lands.

They'll expect us to exit this way. We'll beam out down here. There will be little interference on the ground. Let's go.

Jackson stands ready on the transporter pad. Hudzen puts the commands into the console then joins Jackson.

I've put in coordinates where there is no danger of being attacked by the Flayers. Carrie, energize.

The duo dematerializes from the pad and appears in the doorway of a small house.

I'm picking up the closest Flayers 20 meters from our current position.

Hudzen and Jackson looked around the dark village, searching for the creatures.

Jackson: I see them.

Hudzen nodded.

Be careful of their mind blast. It will only stun you, but if you are incapacitated, I do not believe I can hold them off alonefor very long. Come.

Hudzen leads Jackson to a nearby group of the Flayers. As soon as he's in range he brings up his phaser rifle and his WWII assault rifle, along with several other weapons attached to his torso and arms. A flurry of light and sound erupt as he fires at the surprised creatures.

By Jackson Dupree on Tuesday, March 26, 2002 - 6:17 am:

Geeze they're ugly!
There's another one!
Jackson fires his phaser rifle behind Hudzen, hitting a trio of Flayers.

By BrianW ebber on Tuesday, March 26, 2002 - 3:54 pm:

The pale white skinned creatures and their squid like tentacles that protrude from their faces scatter under the assault of the two crew members. Suddenly a large brown hand grabs the back of Jackson's suit and yanks him back. A Narn, with a portion of hi skull missing and a blank stare in his eyes is trying to drag Jackson towards a pair of Mind Flayers that were hiding behind him and Hudzen preapring an ambush. Hudzen sees this and fires at the Mind Flayers. They both drop dead as the phaser cleanly remove their heads. The Narn, no longer under the control of the Flayers, drops dead. "A blessing in disguise I guess," Jackson mutters.

By Ahz on Tuesday, March 26, 2002 - 4:06 pm:

Ahz appears behind a Mind Flayer and decapitates it with an energy blade. Then he disappears and reappears next to the group.

And the big danger about these things are...?

Ahz vanishes again and appears behind another Flayer and cuts it in half from top to bottem. Then he vanishes again and reappears next to the group.

They aren't that tough.

By Hudzen on Tuesday, March 26, 2002 - 8:56 pm:

Ahz, if I were human, I might comment on the fact that you are the most arrogant person I ha e ever met. But I am not human. Or any other humanoid for that matter.
He blasts two Flayers standing behind Ahz.
We never did give you any warnings. Just Jackson.

By A message indicator on Monday, April 01, 2002 - 8:20 pm:

Meanwhile, on the Interdimensional Communicator, a lone light begins blinking. If anyone should choose to investigate, they would discover that the light is indicating a message from the LICC dimension...the one we all know and love.

By Brian Webber on Monday, April 01, 2002 - 10:33 pm:

The three fight off Flayers, and zombiefied Narns left and right. Suddenly, jackson's suit is torn. The thick air begins to make him cough. It won't suffocate him, but he is left incapacitated for a few minutes. The Flayers and those Narns they ddin't already eat have the three surrounded now. Suddenly, from over the hill a wave of humanoids in armor barrel over and open fire in tandem on the mass of ugly Flayers. Hudzen recognizes them immediately. "Narn amry. At last, some real support."

By Hudzen on Wednesday, April 03, 2002 - 9:11 pm:

Hudzen fights his way through several Flayers and Narn zombies, throwing them aside like combat dummies and approaches the nearest Narn.
I am Hudzen of the XDCA vessel Archangel, the ship orbiting the planet. Who is your commanding officer.
Soldier: General B'Mat.
Hudzen: Take me to him.
The Narn soldier nods. He leads Hudzen past the front lines, back to where several officers watch the battle.
Soldier: General, this man wishes to see you. He is from the ship orbiting the planet. The man, who Hudzen assumes in B'Mat nods and turns to Hudzen.
B'Mat: What can I do for you?
Hudzen: It appears that your army has the situation mostly under control for the moment. One of my men is down and I would like to get him back to my ship for treatment. Our medical doctor will know exactly what to do.
B'Mat nods.
B'Mat: Very well.
Hudzen: Thank you.
The large security droid quickly makes his way back to where he left Ahz and Jackson. He helps the wheezing Jackson up.
Hudzen: Come on. We're leaving.
Hudzen hits a control on his armor. The trio are beamed to the shuttle. As soon as Jackson enters he takes a deep breath and begins to breath normally again. Carrie's face appears on the screen.
Carrie: Welcome back.
Hudzen nods as he goes to the pilot controls. The shuttle lifts from the ground and ascends toward the Archangel, leaving the raging battle below.

By Jackson Dupree on Thursday, April 04, 2002 - 6:13 am:

Hudzen,it was like...a bad science fiction movie!
I mean, zombies, brain eating zombies!
Soon, the shuttle redocks with the Archangel and Jackson looks more alert.
Hudzen, we need to get to the bridge. Don't argue with me, we just do.
Hudzen and Jackson make their way to the bridge. Jackson looks around and notices the blinking light on his panel. He goes to investigate.
Ah ha... a message from the Spidership. They're at the spot where the funeral and memorial services are going to be held for the Spidership's Tacoman and Adon. How's Greymoran doing?

By Brian Webber on Thursday, April 04, 2002 - 2:42 pm:

"I had Keith and Rita take him to his quarters," Carrie's voice replied. Keith was seated in the Cpatian's chair, but got out when he saw Jackson and went over to the Science console. Rita, still in her hoverchair was by the helm. She smile when Jakcson and Hudzen entered the birdge. "It looks the Narn counteroffensive has gone well. It looks like the Minbari have dispatched some ships to the area. Since this universe isn't exactly familiar with the XDCA, I suggest we get out of here. I know they can't really hurt us, but the less they see of us the better."

Where to next? The memorial service? Find the next hiding spot of Jake Grey?
Rita, how are you doing?

Rita chuckles, and looks at Keith. He coughs. "Well, we seem to have lost track of Grey. Not quite sure how, but we just don't know where he is. I suppose we could go to the memorial service." He looks back at Rita, and Rita looks at Jackson. "You're the acting Captain so I guess it's your call. I'm fine by the way." Carrie's face appears on screen, looking somber. I hope Greymoran snaps out of it soon. He has that rare suspended animation allergy. When he does wake up he'll still be incapacitated for days." Suddenly her eyes open wide. "Hold on, I'm getting an incoming dimensional communication." A minute goes by. She suddenly smiles. "That was the XDCA science station Tri-Beta in STU37. It seems that Jake Grey showed up there and pulled out his entire fleet. Attacks against the Starbases and Space Docks he left behind are already udner way. It looks like in a day or two STU16 will be back under XDCA control!"

So it sounds like we've got the Grey out of our hair for the time being.
Carrie, set a course for the LICC universe at the following coordinates.
Jackson transfers the coordinates from the LICC message into the main computer.
Once we get to the Spidership, we can have their Doctor take a look at Greymoran.
Carrie, Rita, engage!
A purple wormhole opens in front of the Archangel, which goes right through. The wormhole closes behind them.

Menawhile, in DWU1, the only Doctor Who universe in XDCA jurisidiction, and completely under Jake Grey's control, Grey and TorGal step foot on the bridge of yet another Defiant-class ship, identical to the Archangel, named Monitor. He looks at the viewscreen in front of him as he sits down in the replica of the throne from Macedonia 1 before the alt-Grey destroyed it. TorGal takes his place, standing beside his master. "It is an impressive fleet TorGal. I am sad we had to surrender STU16 to get, but once we've dealt with Greymoran we can take it back soon enough. Then the other two free STUs will be ours, then we can roll over B5U37 in no time. How many ships do we have total?" "Well, with out combined strike fleets from those three STUs, we have well over 200 Star Trek technology ships, including seven Defiant-class, including this one." "Excellent. I want the crews to begin practicing their combat tactics. I want to be absolutely certain my crews are going to their best. After all, all these ships are running on skeleton crews." "I have to ask why this is my lord." Grey smiles, and pats TorGal's scaly armored shoulder. "Simple my friend. Greymoran will inevitably destroy at least ONE of our ships. I accept that. This way, if and when it does. I won't lose too much manpower. Have the other six Defiants loaded with a device that gives off bio-signs identical to mine. ASAP." "Yes my lord." TorGal left the bridge to begin the work. Grey sighed and leaned back in his new throne. "This is gonna be fun."
