010307 - TKOS Discussion II: The Umpire strikes Jack

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: L.I.C.C.: The Knights of Silvercliff: 010307 - TKOS Discussion II: The Umpire strikes Jack
By HackMaster on Wednesday, March 07, 2001 - 7:38 am:

Yep. TKOS II already. Go read the last part of TKOS I Discussion I before you post!

(And yes, I'm BladeWolf...decided to change my name, in tribute to my favorite comic book....Knights of the Dinner Table!)

By HackMaster on Wednesday, March 07, 2001 - 7:46 am:

And one more thing I forgot to tell you...when the next TKOS story board starts.....Everybody dies!!

MMMMMmmmmmwwwwwwwwwhhhhhhhaaaa!!

Just kidding! :) Wouldn't be much of a story if everyone gets killed, now would it?

By All Of The Above on Thursday, March 08, 2001 - 3:59 am:

Caracatus arrives, looks around, grabs his throat as he's mysteriously strangled by some unseen force, falls to the ground, with a loud: "ACK!"

Khistra arrives next, looks around, sees Caracatus on the ground, grabs her throat as she's mysteriously strangled by some unseen force, falls to the ground, with a loud: "e-eck!"

Staylen Lorrol arrives third, looks around, sees Caracatus and Khistra on the ground, grabs his throat as he's mysteriously strangled by some unseen force, falls to the ground, with a loud: "hack!"

Olivius Haardi arrives fourth, looks around, sees his friend and the others on the ground, grabs his throat as he's mysteriously strangled by some unseen force, falls to the ground, with a loud: "i-ick!"

Brrtnrrnii arrives fifth, looks around, grabs throat as he's mysteriously strangled by some unseen force, falls to the ground, with a loud: "urk!"

Bonno arrives sixth, looks around, sees the large number of corpses, grabs his throat as he's mysteriously strangled by some unseen force, falls to the ground, with a loud: "ook!"

Eep and Meep fly in, look around at the dead humans on the ground, grabs their throat as they're mysteriously strangled by some unseen force, falls to the ground with a loud pair of plops!

Bellepherus arrives, looks around, sighs, shrugs in the way only a gigantic tiger can, turns around and collapses.

The curtain closes, the audience gives a standing ovation, the curtains part and the entire cast stand side by side, holding hands, bows deeply, waves and blows kisses to the audience. The curtains close and open again, the entire cast bows again and waves and then exits stage right.

By HackMaster on Thursday, March 08, 2001 - 4:24 am:

Very funny! To answer your questions back on the last discussion board:

Don't know, ain't saying, and about half a day's ride or a little over that.

By Noman`s Author on Thursday, March 08, 2001 - 9:45 am:

You forgot somebody...

By Caracatus and Co. on Friday, March 09, 2001 - 2:54 am:

Thank you, both for the compliment and answer to my questions. Please let us know when we're getting close to the end, so that we'll know when to be more serious, ok? I also haven't been as descriptive in my posts as when I first intro'd Khistra, except for one the other day, so I'll start doing that a little more again, too.

By Caracatus and Co. on Friday, March 09, 2001 - 3:00 am:

Noman, who(m?) did I forget? I looked over at all of my posts for just my characters, the only ones I intended to do above, since I didn't want to take any liberties with anyone else's. But hey, they could be the understudies. haha

By Plot Motivation on Saturday, March 10, 2001 - 12:31 pm:

I'm not who you think I am, BF...

By BF on Saturday, March 10, 2001 - 2:09 pm:

Oh, yes, you are!!!

By Plot Motivation on Saturday, March 10, 2001 - 2:11 pm:

OK, who you THOUGHT I was.

I am really Padawan. I think I'll give up the Loremaster name.

By BF on Sunday, March 11, 2001 - 3:44 am:

When Dhalric activated his Everglowing Orb, he chanted (under his breath): `Carrontrolll Alaat Delllleeette!'

Carrontrolll Alaat Delllleeette! = Control Alt Delete! :)

By Padawan on Sunday, March 11, 2001 - 8:37 am:

You know, I wonder if Caractacus/Khistra is John Lang?

By Caractacus/Khistra on Tuesday, March 13, 2001 - 1:40 am:

Nope. Don't even know who that is, unless you mean the teen blues/rock singer, Johnny Lang.

By BF on Wednesday, March 14, 2001 - 1:06 am:

Paddy, if you're around, go read my latest post in the RM\SB Discussion Board, and let me know what you think. (Over there, not here, of course)

By BF on Wednesday, March 14, 2001 - 1:17 am:

Okay, I just checked the last discussion board, and Padawan still hasn't answered my question:

What is your favorite color? (Need to know for something I have planned)

So far, if I have this right:

1. KAM: Green
2. Obsy: Blue
3. Caractacus: Flexible, but likes Blue
4. Noman: Silver

And mine is Blue, but just to be different, I'm gonna say Orange (which is the main color of my state's college Football (and I don't mean Soccer) team)

By To Khistra\Caractacus on Saturday, March 24, 2001 - 5:42 am:

Khistra\Caractacus,

You were asked to tone it down when you started posting on this board, and I appreciate the fact that you did so.
However, you have disappointed me by backsliding! Need I remind you, kids may be reading this board, so I once again emplore you to cut it out!
I don't know about the others, but I don't enjoy your little `romantic interlude' posts, as they are a little too graphic in description.
As for your little `lesbian fantasy', I am sure there are a lot of places where you could post those, outside of Nitcentral, of course.
This board is NOT sponsored by the Playboy Channel!

This is your second warning; you DO NOT want a third! If I have to warn you again, I will ask you to either come forward and reveal yourself, or quit posting altogether!
(I can always ask the moderator to delete your posts if you refuse) I'm getting to the point where I don't think TKOS will go on much longer, anyway; Matt Pesti has apparently quit posting as Caractacus, and Padawan\LoreMaster is otherwise occupied with other things, and hasn't been posting much lately either.

By Padawan on Saturday, March 24, 2001 - 11:46 am:

First of all, I assume you mean Cascerot when you say Caractacus (connected with Pesti) I'm just glad it wasn't really Melissa. And I am still around, I am Dunwyn.

By Melissas author on Saturday, March 24, 2001 - 12:03 pm:

Khistra, Melissa is supossed to be in love with someone else. Please don't do any more charactor controling, OK? And how old is Khistra? Over Twenty? probably, Melissa is only sixteen so Khistra would have been much older. And also it must have been a while ago or Melissa would have remembered her. Maybe Khistra used to child mind her?

By BF on Saturday, March 24, 2001 - 5:27 pm:

Padawan, you're right. I DID mean Cascerot, but I was extremely p.o.'ed when I posted.

I'm beginning to think Khistra\Cascerot's only true purpose here is to make me angry, which is a BIG mistake. To quote "The Incredible Hulk" tv show....`Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry!'

By BF on Saturday, March 24, 2001 - 5:28 pm:

Dang blast it! I did it again! I mean Caractacus, not Cascerot!!

By Padawan on Sunday, March 25, 2001 - 8:54 am:

I liked the stuff with Redygo, though.

By Anonymous on Sunday, March 25, 2001 - 9:56 am:

What is this need that Khistra's author has to control everyone and make them look bad (or Khistra look good)?

First she has everyone except for her (including supposedly fearless knights) running away from a tiny dragonette.

Then she has everyone except for her falling on their rear ends in the dark.

Now this.

By HackMaster on Tuesday, March 27, 2001 - 12:46 am:

Whoever "Anonymous" was, I have to agree. For one thing, Dhalric chews up vampires and spits them out, and laughs in the faces of Liches. He would be more likely to slap the tar out of a dragonette than run from it!

And the tiger has healing drool?! That's going just a little too far....unless the tiger isn't a tiger at all! (Shapedchanged spellcaster, with the drool manifesting as a component of a cast healing spell, maybe? Hmmm....)

By Khistra/Caracatus on Tuesday, March 27, 2001 - 5:38 am:

To BF, whom I assume is the Red Poster, please chill, and stop posting when you're po'd, ok? I've already said that: it was done in good fun (obviously I'm the only one to think so); I didn't know just how young some visitors to these boards are; and that I'll watch myself from now on, and so I will. Anyway, since you're not the moderator it's not up to you to have my posts removed. Now, once again, I'll behave, but if there's any bitching to be done to me I'd like it to only be from KAM, or whoever's the moderator, ok? Anyways, any apologies I have to make I'll make them to him alone. Moderator, if you were upset by certain of my posts then I do apologize.

My purpose here isn't to make anyone angry, least of all you, BF (nice initials, BTW), but only to have fun in contributing to the story, and hoping the others all enjoy my efforts, too, as I do theirs. I said before that I don't want to monopolize the story, nor was it ever my intent. But sometimes there are hardly any other contributions, so I'll write a few extras in hopes of moving the story along. No harm done. Now, even if I did mean to make you angry (and I never would, but hypothetically), what would you do?

Anon, I have no need to control everyone and make them look bad. Believe me, Khistra isn't all that good, but she's not always all that bad, either. I didn't have anyone running away from Eep and Meep, when they first appeared, as I've explained in blue on my Saturday, March 03, 2001 - 03:59 am Chapter II post. All you had to do was reread it. No, wait, I'll repost the pertinent part of it here just for you:

I never meant to suggest that anyone jump into the bushes, other than Lorrol and Haardi, who aren't the bravest of men, but now I see how that passage could be misinterpreted that way, given the placements of the commas. It should've been put into parentheses: (with the exceptions of Lorrol and Haardi, who look around for a place to hide), to separate their actions from the rest of the men's. I meant to say that Bonno was passing through the bushes that I imagined the group passed.

And so what if she knew to keep ahold of the tiger's fur when they all fell down that hole? How is that making her out to be any better than the others? It doesn't! If you're riding a horse and know you're about to go down a steep hillside then you're sure as hell going to hold on tightly to stay in the saddle, right? Well, so did she. That's all, nothing more. Of course, were it a complete surprise to you then maybe you would fall off of the horse, but Khistra's had experience in that sort of thing before so she was prepared and acted accordingly. Remember, this is a fantasy story.

Look, folks, I'm not the bad guy here, and neither is anyone else. We should all just calm down and end this, before it all starts to go too far. Can we do that, please? I've made my apologies, I've said I'll watch myself and now I think we should all just move past this and continue contributing to the story and having a good time doing it, ok?
=======================================

Melissa's Author, I based Khistra on a girl I'd made up in high school when I used to type very short stories about her. She had a different name that started with A, but that's all I could remember of her, or else I'd be using that name. I forget Bellepherus' original name. I think I threw out those stories a couple years back. She was also originally 16, and I picture Khistra at that age, too, but wanted to keep her exact age a mystery, but if you all want to know she's also a teen. She's just had a tough life and had to grow up fast. And what do you mean by "child mind"? I'm lost there.

I liked the stuff with Redygo, though.
Thank you, Paddy. I didn't make up that name, btw. It's the name of a friend's I've known since 7th grade.)

HM, Bellepherus isn't a shapeshifter, just a tiger, albeit with extraordinary aspects to him (size, healing drool, strong pyschic abilities to a certain extent, etc). I just liked the funny idea of healing drool.

By Bob Brehm on Tuesday, March 27, 2001 - 7:34 am:

Robar will be back soon.

By Brian Floyd on Tuesday, March 27, 2001 - 5:19 pm:

I never denied being the Red Poster, K\C. And since I'm the one who created TKOS in the first place, I do have the right to complain!

Bob, bring back Robar any time you're ready. We could use more posters around here!

I think Matt's given up on TKOS; he didn't even know what I was talking about when I asked him over in the LICC Discussion board. I guess he thought TKOS was something new, instead of a renamed board (Anyone who mentions the old name will be given 500 lashes with a wet noodle!).

By Khistra/Caracatus on Wednesday, March 28, 2001 - 2:32 am:

Ok, BF. For some reason I thought KAM created this particular board, but since you did then I apologize to you. I do admit that I went overboard with the lez thing and shouldn't've posted it. See, I can admit my mistakes and own up to them (but man, doing so just takes so much out of me! :)).

By Keith Alan Morgan (Kmorgan) on Wednesday, March 28, 2001 - 2:36 am:

KC, well I was shocked at the callous way you killed 'Bob', although you did realize that was a mistake.
And I was shocked by the other post because I thought Melissa was around 7 or 8, although rereading her first post it states she was 17.
Rereading your post I felt it was simply in poor taste. Practicly scaring someone to death, then thinking, 'Didn't we used to have sex? Boy, those were the days.' To quote a beer commercial, "Man, that is COLD!"
Personally I didn't think either of the 'erotic' posts were very erotic, but everyone has different standards. You should probably use a less-is-more approach when dealing with Khistra's sex life.

I deleted that particular post because of all the trouble it was causing.

BF created the idea for TKOS and stated what he did & didn't want as a part of it, so he has been the rulemaker for it.
To use a school metaphor, this section of The Kitchen Sink is like a playground & kids are allowed to make up their own games & I'm the teacher who tries to keep the kids from fighting & arguing, but basically avoids interfering too much in the play of the game.

Also some of the blue text posts were moved over to the first TKOS Discussion board, not deleted.

By BF on Wednesday, March 28, 2001 - 3:58 am:

Khistra\Caractacus, there's a board right above the first TKOS Discussion board called `Brave Tales'. Please read it. I used the name GundamWolf originally. TKOS sprang from an idea I had, and reading that board may help you understand things a little better. Padawan either started or was the first to post on that particular board, but the idea was mine.

By KC...Hey, I like using these initials! Thanks, KAM! on Thursday, March 29, 2001 - 2:55 am:

KAM, I originally killed Bob, but changed that part of it to make it only appear so because I didn't want to upset his author, or get anyone else riled up over it. Not that you'd ever see me do that anyway. :) And yes, you're right. The posts were in bad taste, and not erotic at all. Like I said I was feeling silly that day but that of course was no reason to still post them as they were. I didn't mind you deleting it at all because I expected it to be.

BF, yes, I've checked out Brave Tales before posting in the story. At first I wondered why it was repeated on its own board but then I read why it happened.

By Melissas author on Friday, March 30, 2001 - 3:00 pm:

Child mind is like baby sitting but is for slightly older children who are brats and object to being refered to as babies.

By Melissas author on Saturday, April 07, 2001 - 2:40 pm:

Khistra, calm down! Melissa only said that proudly as in the days of TKOS seventeen was the youngest one could enter a tavern and just before she joined the gang Melissa had her seventeenth birthday and is proud to be able to go into one. The coment about Khistra's age was only trying to frind out about her comrades. So there's no reason to set Belepherus on her when he, Keeran and the monk return.

By KC on Sunday, April 08, 2001 - 2:27 am:

What do you mean? I was always calm. Why say anything about that now, anyway? I'd forgotten all about it. And didn't you read that I allowed Keeran and the monk's author to let Bellepherus go with them? I gave their author permission to write some action for the big cat away from Khistra. Of course, I still could if I wanted to but I'll leave the tiger in his hands for now.

So Melissa's author...calm down yourself, ya big silly. :)

By The Moderator on Sunday, April 08, 2001 - 3:02 am:

The Knights of Silvercliff, Chapter IV is now open.

By Plot Observation aka The author of Sir Bowen on Saturday, April 14, 2001 - 6:50 am:

Come on everyone! Why is no-one posting on TKOS???

By Tin, the Cipky Cipky Xipie on Friday, April 20, 2001 - 10:26 pm:

Narrator: I don't think so!

Keeran, Bellepherus, and the Staggering Monk are clearly IN the tavern, very clearly as a matter of fact. They are invisible, gathering information.

Dunwyn and Bowen ARE in the Hhakon (whatever) woods, as well as whoever wished to follow them, which does not include the aforementioned trio.

By Padawan on Tuesday, April 24, 2001 - 11:14 am:

BF... I'd like you to have Dhalric Blacksilver come with Bowen and Dunwyn through the woods to meet the future-teller. I don't want to run that part on my own and it seems Caractacus' characters have disapperaed for an indefinite period of time.

By KAM on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 - 1:44 am:

Duh! I just figured out the joke on Tin, the Cipky Cipky Xipie.

Is it possible to get a brain tune-up? Mine seems to be running on empty lately.

By HackMaster on Thursday, April 26, 2001 - 2:58 am:

Padawan, Dhalric is with Bowen and Dunwyn; he just isn't talking.

Translation: I haven't been in the mood to post in TKOS lately. That's going to change, as I'm working on an idea for something involving The Staggering Monk and Keeran.....if we ever get them out of that dang tavern!

By Bad Singers on Wednesday, May 02, 2001 - 2:17 pm:

KC is a Tiger Gal
She has quite a life,
writing new posts every week
she causes lots of strife!

Her other name is Khistra
Khistra of the Woods,
She has a MASSIVE pet
around him no one's stood!

But she likes to stay secret
as secret as can be,
if you want to know who she is
Tough! She ain't me!!!

YAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY KC!!!!!

By KC on Saturday, May 05, 2001 - 1:55 am:

Thanks, Bad Singers, but just so ya know KC stands for Khistra/Caractacus.

As for the story itself, I'm not sure if the action should only take place in the one tavern with the invisible characters for now or if anyone wants to also write about those who stayed behind. I'd like to start writing again but I just can't seem to find the motivation lately.

By KC on Saturday, May 05, 2001 - 1:57 am:

Actually, I have thought of a new character, which I might introduce you all to later on.

By HackMaster on Saturday, May 05, 2001 - 2:42 am:

Thanks for the warning, KC, but it seems that Padawan has something planned.

From now on, the Staggering Monk is a regular part of the group. I may have stated that before, but just in case I didn't, I'm stating it now.

By Padawan on Saturday, May 05, 2001 - 8:40 am:

Something planned? No, I just have Bowen and Dunwyn going throug the forest to meet the soothsayer and wanted someone to come with them. I will be writing the soothsayer, so I guess I have that planned, but that's all.

By HackMaster on Saturday, May 05, 2001 - 11:35 pm:

Padawan, proceed. Just say Dhalric is with Bowen and Dunwyn, and I'll pick it up from there when I need to. Okay?

By KC on Sunday, May 06, 2001 - 2:08 am:

If you'd like, Padawan, I'll write for Bellepherus again.

By Brian Webber, Site Designer on Wednesday, May 16, 2001 - 5:27 pm:

http://nccybersoaps.homestead.com/tkos.html

I hope I did TKOS justice. Although to be honest, I actaully haven't read it.

By Brian Webber on Wednesday, May 16, 2001 - 5:29 pm:

Oh, before I leave, I understnad there was some, uh, erotic scenery in one of the TKOS chapters? Could someone e-mail it to me please, in it's entirety? It's not for me! Uh, it's for, um, yeah my sister! yeah, my sister's into that kind of thing. I'm not. *cough*

By KC on Saturday, May 19, 2001 - 3:44 am:

You probably mean some of the ones I've written and got some flak for (Gosh, I don't know why; they were so beautifully done!). Just read all 4 chapters of the "Knights of Silvercliff" boards. I've posted as Khistra, Caracatus (thus my initials), Brrtnrrnii, Lorrol and Haardi, Decrepit Old Man and many others, one or two who only had one or two appearances.

By Padawan Loremaster on Friday, June 22, 2001 - 12:34 am:

Come on, can't we just stick to the main plot?

By HackMaster on Saturday, June 23, 2001 - 3:14 am:

The thing with the Demon-Dragon is going to go by very, very quickly. If no one interferes with what I have planned, the group won't even have to worry about fighting it! :)

By ScottN on Saturday, June 23, 2001 - 11:45 am:

Then why even bring it in?

By HackMaster on Sunday, June 24, 2001 - 4:09 am:

I have one question for KC.....Padawan will probably figure out why I'm asking.

Have you ever posted on the Music boards? Particularly the Lyrics board, or any of the Music Catch-Basin boards?

By Keith Alan Morgan (Kmorgan) on Sunday, July 15, 2001 - 4:55 am:

TKOS V is ready for posting.

By Padawan Loremaster on Saturday, August 04, 2001 - 11:49 am:

Three things for KC/MarkN...

Are Khistra, Staylen, Olivius, Bonno, Brrtnrrnii's head and Bellepherus still with the rest of the questers, or just Bic Penh?

The Knights Who Say Nee were NOT the three-headed person in the original "Monty Python's The Quest For The Holy Nail" (or whatever the exact wording of the title is) They were "completely different", as they say.

When Dunwyn said "The lovely Khistra is correct" he was talking about the lute, not the Buggles. So I hadn't made a mistake, I really meant Khistra and not the Townie (Go back to TKOS Chapter III if you're confused or have forgotten, or both)

And to people in general -- POST!

By Padawan supplemental on Saturday, August 04, 2001 - 11:50 am:

Oh, yes, one more thing - Why did you change the spelling from "Caractacus" to "Caracatus"?

By Padawan Observer on Sunday, March 03, 2002 - 7:13 am:

YO KAM!

Could you delete my post on TKOS V by 'The Knotting Hill Billis'? I really don't like it and regret making it. And removing it would not affect any of the other posts.

By Keith Alan Morgan (Kmorgan) on Sunday, March 03, 2002 - 7:52 am:

Done.

By Padawan Observer on Sunday, March 03, 2002 - 9:47 am:

Thanks.

By DJ on Saturday, March 16, 2002 - 9:55 pm:

How come TKOS isn't at the new Cybersoap board (titled LICC, moderated by JD)?

By MAK on Sunday, March 17, 2002 - 6:37 am:

Maybe the board thought it better to stay in Adventurer's Row then move to Mr. Pootywinkle & the Cows of Fury?

By DJ on Sunday, March 17, 2002 - 10:46 am:

Oh c'mon! TKOS is important to have it's own board, like Archangel.

By KAM on Monday, March 18, 2002 - 4:45 am:

Must... resist... temptation... to bash... Archangel.

Well, DJ, if that is your real name, at the moment only Phil can move boards from one topic to another when different Moderators run the topics.

I could move TKOS to Comic Books which I also moderate, but I couldn't move it to any other topic.

JD, did move Archangel from Movies to L.I.C.C. because he moderated both boards.

Since it looks like NitCentral is getting Roving Moderators soon, they could theoretically move boards from one topic to another.

However, the most important question is, does BF want TKOS moved? BF started TKOS & if he wants it to stay here, that's fine. If he wants to start creating new TKOS boards over at L.I.C.C., that's also fine.

I'm not holding a gun to BF's head to force him to stay here.

By Someone Else on Thursday, December 18, 2003 - 11:30 am:

And it's finished. Boy was that a long ride. Thought TKOS would last forever.
