Yes, I'm a Buffy fan, but no, Quito's name was just a coincidence. (At least consciously.)

Milkshake ain't Omnipotent. The Qs aren't either. If they were, there wouldn't be Qwars and the Qs would be infallible. Maybe we should revise that clause to No SuperDuperPowerfulness.

The Qs are close enough. When Kira gave Frangelica Q powers she stopped being a regular character. That makes sense. If we have someone with Q powers, or even near Q powers, they can easily stop threats that would be harder for the rest of the characters.

That's why Milkshake isn't a Q yet. And now that he's acting Captain, he probably won't be exhibiting any powers for a loong time.

Who posted that extremely long K-Nit Fans Stuck in Traffic post? Pesti? I find it very annoying. Is it within the bounds of this board?

I thought it was pretty funny but completely unrelated to the plot except for the heading. However, "atheistic" should read "anaesthetic" and the Marquis de Sade liked inflicting pain on others, not himself.

Didn't you know that we all keep spare main characters on board the ship? They fold up and you can easily fit three spares in a standard suit case. Unfortunately, the spare Adon is in the shop right now. He was suffering from Termite damage and had to be repaired.

Kiehart's a commander now? So, he now ranks ahead of Colanator, the former third officer, Insane, Quantum Man (although I haven't seen him for a while, belowdecks probably), Insane, Rikard, and Jadlad. How?

I would just like to point out that Adon follows the same immortality as Tolkien's elves. He is extremely long lived and won't die of natural causes, but he can still be killed.

I figure that Adon would die of old age around about a million years old or so... maybe. ;)

I think we should revise the LICC ranking system, so they actually mean something. I suggest something along the following lines.

Captian: Top excecutive Officer.

Commander: In charge of department, shift, or something of that nature. At least full year with LICC

Liutendent: Any LICC Member who has been with it for 6 months.

Ensign: Any member with less than six months.

Again, not a dogmatic command, but a proposition to be debated and discussed.

This Dues Ex Machina way some people have of dealing with plot twists has become incredibly annoying.

Bad guys attacking when they hear the heroes are down & out is perfectly logical.
Having the ships already at the station or having a FEW more show up & fight the ships is one thing.
However having a FLEET of ships come out of nowhere & beat them back *ho hum* "No one else bother their pretty little head about this plot twist, it's over as soon as it began", just strains credibility.

I am sick & tired of a plot twist being COMPLETELY WIPED OUT in 1 d@mn post!!!

I have a guess as to who I think did it.

Frankly the attack was mainly gonna be a hit & run & they would probably retreat as soon as the opposition got too heavy, but when someone goes & pulls a convenient fleet out of their *ahem*, it just pissed me off. (And that poster can just stick that fleet back where they got it from!)

The main reason for the attack was that villains aren't nice & if the heroes appear to be spending to much time wallowing in grief then they might as well paint a bullseye on their backs.
(Not to say that heroes shouldn't grieve, but the universe doesn't stop just because someone wishes it would.)

I think Polymorph weapons should have a more definite effect. Like if you fire it at a Inanimate object, it must become another inanimate object, and if you fire it at a animate object it becomes a animate object. And the being remains sentiant as well.

Hey, pretty cool pics Kira! Especially the one for Adon (love the latin inscription too). Ummm....yeah, you can use them in the plot. I hadn't really decided on the final look yet, so this is as good as any I suppose. (But since Artsy did make them, can I say that they're a little more than simple statues? Almost an interactive memorial? Will that screw up what you want to do?)

Do you speak Latin, btw? (I don't. "Dog Latin" is the best I can do. Did I get it right?)

I did take a year of Latin recently...but I had to get my book out to verify what I thought the inscription said. An interesting phrase for a memorial. The construction looks all right, though I'm not quite sure about the form of quietus. I think it should maybe be quiete--if you meant by "modo quietus" something like "now in peace/rest/quiet". And if I got the declension of the noun correct.

1. If you find out which chapter it was, please post it here!

2. I plan on resolving the `corrupt Space Marshals' scenario, but it's not going to happen in LICC. It'll be in The Wytch Queen. I don't really have any other stories planned for that series, but I've got that particular story set to be the third adventure. (Rocket Ranger will be making a crossover for that story)

I'm pretty sure it was in Code of hero, which, if not at the LICC archive yet, you can find them at Archangel site. Actually, if there's anythign else there you might need, feel free.
