New Count.

Orange Cases: 5
Purple Cases: 5
Blue Cases: 5
Green Cases: 5
Pink Cases: 5

I figured 5 of each was more than enoguh to satisfy all potential orders. It allowed me to brun copies of the new Natalie Merchant and Paul Oakenfold CDs, as well as make a mix CD for my cousin Becky. If anyone would like to know what songs she asked for, I'll gladly give the lsit to anyone who cares.

Hey cool, my RM/PM password works everywhere! Sweet. :)

By Brian Webber on Tuesday, April 02, 2002 - 8:31 pm:

Uh, Jake, why is this BEFORE Sndtrk 2? It makes no sense!

But nayway, thanks to a The Doors box set I really want, but can't afford, but my dad got a copy, there are now NO Pink CD cases. None. Nada. Zip. If you were considering a pink case, sorry, but, it's the freakin' Doors what do ya want?!?!? Sides, 20 cases oughta be MORE than enough to keep me covered in case more than one person orders one. Oh before I forget, when Josh bought his copy, he just ropunded up form the Post Office price and sent $3. I think I'll just go ahead and make that the price instead of this $0.75 = S&H shi-stuff.

Orange Cases: 5
Purple Cases: 5
Blue Cases: 5
Green Cases: 5

You know, if I'm being delusional in assuming that anybody else is gonna buy one of these thing, it would help if you TOLD me!

By Brian Webber on Friday, April 19, 2002 - 10:43 pm:

OK, selling it is NOT going to work obviously. I'm just gonna have to give them away.

But not yet.

As soon as my unemployment checks start showing up (I qualified for the extension) I'll start sending them out.

That's the good news. Now here comes the bad.

Orange Cases: 4
Purple Cases: 5
Blue Cases: 5
Green Cases: 2

It's a long story. The short version is I owed someone some blank discs.

By Josh M on Friday, May 03, 2002 - 9:54 pm:

I believe a recent song that would be perfect for LICC is "Hero" by Chad Kroeger on the Spider-Man Soundtrack.

By Brian Webber on Saturday, May 04, 2002 - 4:27 pm:

Well, it could go on an LICC Volume 2 Soundtrack (or More Music From The L.I.C.C.) like with those movies with two discs out. However, I, Brian D Webber, shall abstain from selecting the songs for the Second Volume. I may suggest (and only suggest, not demand) a song or two, but that'll be the end of my involvement.

BTW, I've made 4 copies of the Archangel Trilogy SOundtrack for the Archangel cast members, not using the silm cases to make it look somewhat more official-looking. I'll be ready to send them all out once my first unemployment check comes (they are now six weeks late, and if I'd been turned down for the Extended Benefits they would've told me, like they did last time when I had to go to court (and won. :) )).

Hero could work. Does anyone other than me have a CD Burner and acces to Audiogalaxy? If not, I'll gladly MAKE the discs for ya, I'll just sit out the selection like I said in the last paragraph. I really enjoy this stuff.

BTW, for an LICC disc as selected by me, I still have 1 Orange case, and I think 5 Green ones. I just need to re-make a CD cover (I accidentally deleted the saved file, and the old LICC site logo with it).

By Brian Webber on Saturday, May 04, 2002 - 4:28 pm:

Sorry bout the miscalc on the Green. That's 5 PURPLE cases.

By Brian Webber on Thursday, May 09, 2002 - 4:56 pm:

Guess what you cheap bastards? You won't have to shell out $2.80 anymore, because I have a JOB now! A very well paying job I might add, where I ccan set my own hours. And no, I'm not a pimp (for anything other than View Askew swag which you can purchase at Jay & Silent Bob's Secret Stash 35 Broad Street, Red Bank, New Jersey, 07701, nootch).

Anyway, I've burned 5, count 'em, FIVE copies of the illustrious LICC Soundtrack, and placed them in the 5 Purple slim-cases I had left. Each one has a different cover, and I will send them out on a first come-first serve basis.

The Covers:

1. Group Pic, Logo, Track info.
2. LICC written in red and green marker, Track info.
3. Small LICC Logo, no Track info (track info available soon on LICC archive site).
4. Spidership II in Battlemode (no pics of Spider3 available yet! :( ), LICC written in red marker, Track info.
5. LICC written in bold red letters, track info on front.

Just e-mail me your snail mail addy (except for JD, who deson't want ANYTHING sent to his house), and tell me which cover you want. If you ask for one that's already taken, you'll have to pick another one. Sorry.

Let me know guys and gals. Josh Mastin loved his CD, I'm sure you'll love yours too.

By KAM on Friday, May 10, 2002 - 6:06 am:

Why are you assuming we are any richer than you?

Also if I remember correctly, you CHOSE to burn these tracks rather than asking if there was any interest first.

While it's been awhile since I read the track list I seem to recall thinking that their were not very many songs that I cared for & besides, I don't have anything to play them on.

I would also wonder if you asked any of the artists for permission to use their art on the CDs, but since I doubt you got permission from the musicians, I would guess no.

In future rather than just leaping before you look, you might want to ask around first & discover what people would be willing to pay for before you commit yourself to burning a bunch of CDs that no one wants.

Congratulations on the job. Hope it works out for you.

By Padawan Observer on Friday, May 10, 2002 - 9:56 am:

Brian, I have nothing to say except...

Congratulations on your new job!

By Brian Webber on Friday, May 10, 2002 - 9:35 pm:

KAM, in case you forgot, I'm not charging for it anymore. Theretofore I'm not required to aquire permission from the artists, as this is NOT a profit seeking venture, but just a thing shared between friends.

Plus, several of those tracks were taken from the suggestions provided by the LICC regulars on the old board back at Star Wars, including but not limited to Invincible by Pat Benetar (selected by Jason 'Adon' Liedgk).

By Brian Webber on Saturday, May 11, 2002 - 6:00 pm:

BTW, the following tracks from botyh soundtracks I made came directly from CDs, I already owned;

From LICC Disc;
1: Introduction by Chasing Amy's Jason Lee
2: Space Team Electra - Shadow
6: Stroke 9 - Kick Some Ass
7: The Cardigans - Iron Man
9: Run-D.M.C. - Tougher Than Leather
10: Michael Hutchence - The Passenger
11: Fury in the Slaughterhouse - Dancing In The Sunshine of the Dark
15: Bloodhound Gang - Jackass
17: Soul Coughing - The Bug
18: Green Day - Brain Stew (Godzilla Mix)

From Archangel;

1: Teohitucan by Noel Gallagher
2: We Are by Vertical Horizon
3: How Soon Is Now by Love Spit Love
4: Keep Hope Alive by The Crystal Method
5: I Shot Lucifer by Bionic Jive
6: Sehnsucht by Rammstein
7: One by Filter
8: Prison Song by System Of A Down
9: On The Outside by Staind
10: Stroke Of Luck by Garbage
11: How I Could Just Kill A Man by Rage Against The Machine
12: Breakdown by Tantric
14: Safe From Harm (Massive Attack Remix) by Lisa Gerrard & Pieter Bourke
15: Still by Alanis Morrisette

In that case, all 15 tracks were from MY OWN CDs, except for Blow Up The Outside World by SOundgarden, which I ripped from my Grandfather's copy of the Soundgraden album A-Sides.

But, KAM, my comrade, I think I'll let the resdient expert on the evils of the RIAA, ScottN, take care of you.

Josh's copy of The Archangel Trilogy Original Cybersoap Soundtrack should get to him by Monday or Tuesday.

By KAM on Sunday, May 12, 2002 - 3:30 am:

When I say ARTISTS I meant people who drew the ART that you used. (I used the term MUSICIANS to refer to people who made the MUSIC.) Since most of the artists who've done LICC art still post at NitCentral it's not that hard to get ahold of us & ask our permission before you start plastering it on stuff. It's just common courtesy.

Also COPYRIGHT means the RIGHT to make COPIES. The Copyright Holder grants, or sells, a right to make copies to another. Just because Copyright Infringement is done for a free project doesn't nullify the Infringement.

However the really insulting thing in your post was calling those of us who didn't throw money at you, "cheap bastards". (Gee, thanks 'friend'.)

As for your 'music publishing business' the smart thing to have done would have been first find out if there was sufficient interest in anyone wanting to buy CDs, then burning copies.

Also as it is a thing between 'friends' you could have actually personalised each CD for each interested individual, rather than having a CD with x number of songs that Person A might like, but Person B hates.

As it was you decided that people were interested & burned a bunch of CDs, then got mad when we didn't start throwing money at you for this.

Simple rule of business, don't produce a product until you know there is an interest in said product.

By Brian Webber on Sunday, May 12, 2002 - 12:19 pm:

I called YOU a cheap bastard for talking about 'throwing money away' AFTER, not before, AFTER, Id said I was just going to give them out for free, meaning I STOPPED CHARGING FOR THEM! As for the art, I wanted to have the covers be represenative of the LICC itself.

OK, so getting mad was a bad thing, but them not buying it wasn't what irked me. What irked me is these people didn't have the decency to just SAY, "I don't want one." The silent treatment licks balls and I hate it and I get more than enough of it at home.

Publishing business? What publishing business? I made some CDs for some geeks (I use the word geek affecitoantely, as I happen to be one myself)! Big F-ing Deal!

And yes, I did decide to BURN the discs, and I selected many of the songs on it, but in case you missed what I said the first time, allow me to repost in big huge red letters.

If one of the Archangel people hade made a CD, and I liked most of the songs (as several people actually did in the LICC CD's case), I'd have no problem asking for a copy. Of course none of the four other people made one, but if they had, I'm saying...

By Brian Webber on Sunday, May 12, 2002 - 12:22 pm:

Oh, on the art thing, For most (if not all) of the images have YOUR Copyright symbol, PROMINENTLY displayed.

SO there. You got your well deserved credit for your incredible artwork. Yes, I think it's really good. I wouldn't have used it otherwise.

BTW, I made copies of the two cybersoap soundtracks for my step-grandfather. Did I do soemthign horibly wrong there too?

By Brian Webber on Tuesday, May 21, 2002 - 6:37 pm:

Hey JD, why not just delete that little spat with KAM and just leave the part where I mention that the CDs are FREE!!!! :)

By KAM on Wednesday, May 22, 2002 - 4:50 am:

Particularly since either Brian missed the point I was trying to make, or I just did a hack job of explaining it.

By Brian Webber on Monday, August 19, 2002 - 9:20 pm:

Hey wait a minute! KAM, I just went back and looked at my 'cheap basatrds' post, and you know what? YOU TOOK IT OUT OF CONTEXT! I used it as an intro to the annoucnement I had a new job, and was so happy I was just gonna give the discs away! I hereby rescind my apology, sicne I was apologizing for something that really wasn't.
