Greetings.

It's time that we had another RP spin around the block. Something similar to LICC at its best. The only question is... the setting.

Should it be...

LICC sequel?

LICCverse prequel?

or something in a different, make-it-up-as-you-go-along sci-fi and/or superhero world, which is similar to the LICC but not the same?

By JD on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 - 5:12 pm:

I wouldn't mind a new effort from scratch, although something set in the LICCverse could be perfectly serviceable.

By Jon Wade on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 - 8:17 pm:

I know the idea of LICC the next generation has been kicked around...
Jackson could be a recruiter for the XDCA.. I have some interesting character ideas that could be introduced...
As for a prequel idea, we would have to set it in the Phantom return realms, since the LICCverse didn't actually exist before the LICC got there.

It may not have existed before it was created, but it did have a past created for it once it was created. Hence if you travel back in time in the LICCverse you can go to a point before it was created.

Or you can just ignore that Mind Screw explanation by the Queue because now that the LICCverse exists it acts like it has always existed & only those from other realities may know differently.

By Padawan on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 - 8:24 am:

Yeah, LICC's had quite a few storylines where characters go back to any earlier time in the same LICCverse.

By Jon Wade on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 - 1:55 pm:

Good point. if we wanted to more even more comedy, we could have a ship of newly minted superheros, misfits in general, and those with less useful powers... go with a Star Traks sort of thing...

By Padawan on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 - 5:32 pm:

If were doing superheroes, I think we should try and have some variety in the different abilities they have... more variety of powers than in the original LICC and fewer non-powered "suit guys" or jedi/wizard types.

This would tie in with Jon's idea... the characters could all have very different, very bizarre powers which don't always help them very much.

The scpitp supervisor! can summon scpipts...
I've been thinking of an Ent-type creature for the LICCverse... He's about 7 feet tall, somewhat young, and had been exploring the multiverse. Favorite place is Earth during Christmas, and so he is perminantly draped in ornaments, candy canes, and so on.. calls himself Zinny Cohen, and claims to be the only creature in the universe who knows whether an unwatched tree in the forest really makes a sound when falling.

By ScottN on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 - 11:27 pm:

Is a scpitp related to a scpipt? Perhaps a mutant variation that doesn't take supervision well?

By Jon Wade on Thursday, July 16, 2009 - 7:13 am:

I meant a scpipt... the scpitp are a subspecies. supervising them is like herding cats. :-)

By ScottN on Thursday, July 16, 2009 - 8:48 am:

Well, as long as we don't have a bunch of unsupervised scpipts running around...

By JD on Thursday, July 16, 2009 - 12:05 pm:

I kind of liked making up powers for that other superhero group that kidnapped our real-life selves. Doing something new along those lines would be fun.

By JD on Saturday, July 18, 2009 - 4:28 pm:

How about an Earth-based group? Or does everyone still prefer the space-roaming variety?

By Angry Mob Opposed to Earthcentric Stories on Sunday, July 19, 2009 - 12:27 am:

How about an Earth-based group?
Stone the Heretic!

By Random Narrator on Sunday, July 19, 2009 - 12:30 am:

Sadly as the mob approached the tower they had forgotten they were wearing redshirts with no protection against molten lead.

By Josh M on Sunday, July 19, 2009 - 1:35 am:

They could always be Ganymede-based.

By Padawan on Sunday, July 19, 2009 - 5:35 am:

Could be primarily Earth-based, but in a time/world where space travel is quite common, so some adventures could take us out into space.

It could then become a spacefaring group if the space stuff becomes more popular.

Pink Alert!

Yahoo will shut down Geocities in a few months. Save the LICC site!
