Who played the Richard Boone role of Paladin
on the radio?
Also did they use the same theme?
Interesting to compare the Radio and Tv versions.

Interesting factoid is that the TV version came first, rather than the other way around.

John Dehner played the role of Paladin on radio. If you're a fan of the tv show Hogan's Heroes, he played a Gestapo agent once. I can't remember the character's name, but if I remember correctly, Hogan posed as an American businessman turned traitor in the episode.

He was a character actor; he appeared on several other shows and in a few movies, but that's all I can think of at the time.

(Incidentally, I've only heard one or two episodes of the radio program)

John Dehner also appeared countless times on both the radio and TV versions of "Gunsmoke." And his films included "Carousel," "Youngblood Hawke," "Stiletto" and "Jagged Edge." He died in 1992.

The "Colonel Bachscheider" episodes of Hogans Heroes were what I was thinking of.

I believe he also appeared on The Andy Griffith Show once, but I may be mistaken.

I understand that seven of the twenty scripts that Gene Roddenberry wrote for the TV series were adapted to radio. Of these, I've heard four (Ella West, Helen of Abajinian, Monster at Moonridge, and Food to Wickenburg). These have struck me as among the worst episodes I've heard. What irks me is that, while Paladin comes across as a smidge sexist overall, in these episodes, he comes across as an outright chauvanist.
