I'm not sure this fully belongs in the "Westerns". Jase Pearson was a 20th Century Texas Ranger (just like Walker :O)

Oops. I had only heard the title (not having got a chance to actually hear an episode) and assumed it was a Western. My bad. I'll move it over to Detectives when I have a chance.

From KNX's Drama Hour Pages, it was set circa 1928-1948.

The show starred Joel McCrea.

I recall someone elsewhere had made a slightly disparaging remark about how Pearson always seems to shoot the bad guys in the arm. Other than the fact that he's a Texas Ranger rather than some two-bit gunman, I recall quite a few episodes where the the felon did get killed. Among the ones off the top of my head:

Death by Adoption
Logger's Larceny
Killer's Crop
Blood Harvest

A couple more episodes where Pearson kills the perp. If anyone can think of more, post them.

Wild Crop
Living Death

I was listening to the episode Bad Blood last night. I'm surprised that Pearson didn't at least book the victim's brother-in-law on suspicion, what with that drivel he told. Sure, we the audience have the advantage of knowing he did it, but Pearson has seen through more convincing fabrications before.

A few more episodes with dead perps.

Helping Hand
Fool's Gold
Open Range

By Gordon Lawyer on Thursday, October 31, 2002 - 7:59 am:

In the episode Conspiracy, Pearson nails two perps.

By Gordon Lawyer on Sunday, June 22, 2003 - 5:17 am:

A nit for Canned Death. The way they nailed the perp was pretty good. But how did they know those were his fingerprints? They'd have to be on file somewhere. The only reason I can think of them being on file is if he had been arrested previously or held a paranoid security job.
