DTDD was a topical - ie recorded close to transmission - comedy, about the staff of a TV news company, written by Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkin.

I'm currently trying to put together a wiki about the show, at http://drop-the-dead-donkey.wikia.com/wiki/Drop_the_Dead_Donkey_Wikia

Has it really been over two and a half years since my last message?

I bought the boxset about 3 years ago and although I never got round to watching every episode, I was surprised at how - despite the episodes being very topical and relating to very recent events - much of it still worked and hadn't dated. Of course, you need to have been around at the time to understand a lot of the gags, but I was comfortable with the episodes even after such a long gap. It helps that the actors were superb.

My favourite is the Evangelist episode. Baseball one a close second.
