Well, somebody has to start up the board.

>> WHAT A CLIFFHANGER! CLARK VS. TORNADO. WHAT HAPPENS TO THE SPY? WHAT'S IN THE SPACESHIP? DOES LEX LET HIS FATHER DIE? IS WHITNEY COMING BACK? Oh my god! This is why this show kicks some major butt!!

>> Can three tornadoes really merge into one like that?

>> Shameless plug: "Hey, I really like them." "YEAH! GO REMY ZERO" -- Clark and Pete on Remy Zero performing at their school.

>> You know, at our prom, all we get is a half drunk DJ. They sure have it good in Kansas.

>> That spaceship sure isn't hidden very well. I always thought it was in some secret compartment under the barn, but it's just in their storm cellar under a sheet. I'd have that thing under lock and key.

>> I can't wait a whole 3 months for the conclusion. But I guess if I can wait 3 years for Episode 3, I can wait 3 months for season 2.

Go moderator! Thanks for taking over from whatever slacka$$ was supposed to do it.

See ya later

How long has Lana lived in Smallville? Surely by now she should know that in a situation like hers, trapped by a funnel cloud, she should get face down in the ditch into which she had run the truck.

By MarkN on Tuesday, May 21, 2002 - 11:13 pm:

I doubt it cuz that'd be about as effective as the old duck and cover drills schoolchildren used to practice in the Red Scare's heyday, because she'd still get sucked up into the funnel. What I'm wondering about the ending is will Clark discover that he can now fly? He floated above his bed while asleep in an early episode (and not since), and in this one his mom suggested that as he gets older his abilities get stronger, plus he runs into the funnel (and why did he stop just short of the truck, anyway?) so it's a valid opinion that he will discover the power to fly, although whether or not he does remains to be seen, of course.

By Duke of Earl Grey on Wednesday, May 22, 2002 - 12:20 pm:

I'm predicting the snoopy reporter who found the ship will die in the next episode. It sort of inevitably happens to everyone who finds out about Clark.

By Art Vandelay on Thursday, May 23, 2002 - 1:42 am:

Great episode.

I agree that the reporter will die next episode.

I also think Clark willl start flying to save Lana, although how well he'll do it in the middle of a funnel remains to be seen.

Nits, why didn't Jonathon grab and smash the reporter's camera and then give him a good kicking.
Why didn't Clark feel weakened he was talking to Lana and Whitney when they were talking outside the school. Didn't Lana have the kryptonite then or was it left in the truck. There are other times in the first season when it seems that just wearing it under her clothes protects Clark from it's effects.

By Hammer on Thursday, May 23, 2002 - 8:34 pm:

I am glad they sent the kryptonite necklace away, it was too much of a plot complication and it led to many nits.

On a nother note I would like to thank the moderator for getting this board up,I have been wanting to post for a long time

You're welcome, everyone's welcome.

Jewels, flowers, and chocolate covered caramels may be sent directly to my residence. ;)

I live a scant few miles west of Tornado Alley (not in it, mind you, just near it), and yes, three twisters can collide and bcome one like that. It's rare but it happens.

I see a slight problem as far as clark goes.
glasses.
now I realize that the actor might look a little strange with glasses, but whenever I think of clark kent I see glasses.
and won't it be a problem if clark does learn to fly and--maybe--get his red and blue uniform (tights).?
And I could have swarn there was a character called Flash Tomson, or something like that, that was Lanas boyfriend...?
I missed a few episodes so I might have missed his departure.
and one last little thing, if clark does somehow get a pair of tights and decide to fly around, how will he prevent anyone from recognizing him?

By Brian Webber on Thursday, May 30, 2002 - 8:46 pm:

Flash Thompson was from SPIDER-MAN! And you call yourself a Nerd. You're a disgrace! Turn in your pocket protector and glases with tape wrapped around them. NOW!

*NOTE TO ROVING MODS: That was tounge-planted-firmly-in-cheek. Please don't dump it. Please?*

By Anonymous on Monday, June 03, 2002 - 12:10 am:

okay...acually I don't call myself a nerd, and I feel sufficiently corrected.
thank you.
So here's another question, any word on if/when Lois Lane will enter the picture?

By Duke of Earl Grey on Monday, June 03, 2002 - 3:44 am:

I was just thinking that Chloe has a lot of Lois Lane-like traits. She's a reporter, a little too nosy for her own good, etc. Maybe Clark will fall for Lois because she reminds him of Chloe?

By Brian Lombard on Monday, June 03, 2002 - 5:12 am:

I can answer one question. Whitney is definitely not returning next season. When the WB announced it's fall lineup recently, they provided a cast listing for each series. Eric Johnson's name was the only one absent from the Smallville information.

By Brian Lombard on Wednesday, January 08, 2003 - 5:00 am:

Did anyone else notice the extra scenes when the WB aired both parts as a movie last night? Certain scenes ran longer than they did in the original airing. Most noticeably, the scene where Whitney asked Clark to look after Lana had a few new lines of dialogue. Also, Whitney's farewell scene with Lana at the bus stop had more lines.

By Marc Lechowicz on Tuesday, April 22, 2003 - 9:00 am:

Just as an aside, according to the PTB's, they want this to be completely seperate from the adult Superman. Supposedly, Clark won't wear glasses, the suit, or fly. Also, since he doesn't meet Lois until later, she probably won't be in Smallville.

It is the spring formal... but boy, there seem to be a lot of dead leaves on the ground.

By Influx on Wednesday, July 30, 2003 - 8:26 am:

Starting next week, this show goes into the same time-slot as Enterprise (Wednesday). I really think I should be watching this show regularly. Hopefully they'll repeat this one (again?).

By Influx on Thursday, July 31, 2003 - 7:53 am:

Vortex was on last night -- apparently a continuation of Tempest. Did they start the new season early?

By Influx on Thursday, July 31, 2003 - 7:55 am:

OK,I'm an idiot. Just noticed that this was the Season ONE finale and it's old news to everyone else. I really should watch this show more often.......
