I'd just like to go on record with my theory that it's Kyla and not the old man that's the werewolf in this one.
When the construction worker fired the flare in the teaser, it looked to me like he fired it straight up, but my friend Chris said that when it started to come back down, it was in an arc. If so, it shouldn't have come straight back down to the guy or the gasoline.
Btw, can enough material of flare come down to ignite gasoline on the ground?
Also, my Chris stated that at no time during Vortex did Clark or anyone else get the octagon off his ship, but that he suddenly has it here. Can anyone confirm this?
I like being right...
Anyhow, am I the only one worried at the part where Kyla mentioned that the guy who came down in the past brought "Green rocks" with him? It's bad enough we have the writers blaming everything on Kryptonite, but they've just given themselves a way to retroactively explain people with powers from before the meteor showers.
Unconfirmed, Luigi.
There is an octagon shaped hole in a cave wall that Lex is especially interested in, but that's it.
Did anyone else think the Legend of Namad was cheesy?
It seems that in TV and movies, jumping through a glass window will never leave a scratch. Of course, since the plot necessitated that Kyla must die, suddenly window jumping becomes fatal. As I've never jumped through a window, I can't speak as to what the effects would really be, but I'm guessing it's somewhere in the middle. In any event, shouldn't Clark have made a hasty run to the hospital with Kyla? She could possibly have been savable.
Wouldn't Lara Croft, excuse me, wouldn't Kyla's death seem a little suspicious? I can imagine Clark telling the cops "well in her wolf form, she jumped through a window and cut herself pretty badly. Fortunately she was able to turn back into human form before dying."
He'd either end up in prison or in Arkham Asylum!
On Cops shows being pushed through glass can kill you. Don't you watch CSI?
OK... Clark and Pete happen to be riding motorbikes (why Clark, who can run at super speeds, would find this thrilling, I don't know) in a field... Clark happens to hit a log which makes him go flying through the air... he happens to land on a soft patch of dirt that crumbles into a cave below... where Kyla happens to be spelunking... and where they happen to discover Native American cave paintings... that happen to be about Clark.
Too many contrivances for me...

During the first season, they find the octagon somewhere. During the season finale, I believe it's Martha who places the octagon in the ship, causing it to fly. When it comes to a stop, the octagon falls out and Lex finds it. At somepoint between the season premiere and this episode, Clark discovers that Lex has it, and steals it back when Lex isn't looking.
Marc
Lex doesn't find it, somebody else does (I won't say who for spoiler reasons) It's two or three episodes from now.
You're right, Art, I remember now. Thanks :0)
Marc
Only Clark would ride plaid while motorbiking.
Ride plaid?
It's obvious. He rides so fast that he goes plaid!
Spaceballs reference
ah, cr*p. would wear plaid while motorbiking
