Wow.

And here I was ticked that Sam Jones III was leaving because the creators were no longer interested in trying to figure out ways to justify his inclusion in the cast. That yet might be the case, but man if they didn’t write his departure episode in a way that made it seem as if his departure wasn’t borne out of truly legitimate INTERNAL story consequences, and his sobbing farewell to Clark following his rescue by Lex was just tragic, a fitting installment in a series where the young life of the brightest and most optimistic of superheroes is depicted as an ongoing saga of isolation and sacrifice.

Am I the only one getting a bit tired of the Matrix-like FX used during Clark’s hero sequences? The bit with him dowsing Emily with the water tower just looked AWFUL. The water in the tower as it tipped over looked like it was obviously a separate element in the shot, and the shot of her getting flooded didn’t look really good either.

Isn’t it convenient that Loder and his team entered Lionel’s office to arrest him just as Lex finished up a nice taunt about Lionel getting sloppy?

Where did Emily get that plastic room for Lana? Did she make it? HOW? She's got the mentality of a grade schooler. Besides, where did the materials come from?

That barn they were in was by Emily's old house. I suppose that special room had been built by Emily's father to keep her in, back in the day.

Speaking of that plastic (or glass, or transparent aluminum, or whatever...) room, I was just thinking of the scenario near the end of the episode. Emily has Lana tied up, and choline is being pumped into the room. Lana loses consciousness (quite conveniently). Clark bursts in, jacks up the clorine pump, and bursts Lana's bonds. He calls her name, she regains consciousness and calls his name back. Lana looks down. Clark looks at Emily. She zips off. He zips after her!

OK, maybe I'm misremembering some detail, but shouldn't Lana be wondering where Clark quite literally disappeared to?

Chlorine, rather...

You're absolutely right, it just looked cheesy. I will say that I prefer the CGFX to the alternative of not directly seeing any evidence of Clark's powers.

It's unfortunate that they decided Emily has the ability to vibrate her molecules to pass through solid objects, ala the Flash, becuase this means (literally) that she can't be touched or harmed as long as she is on guard. Technically, she should have been able to vibate through the water that was dumped on her.

Now, I can't say I've ever seen a water tower fall over, but I'm pretty sure that, if I were running faster than the speed of sound, I could get out of the way without a problem. I'd go so far as to say that, if the tower were falling directly toward me, I could run at human speed perpendicular to the direction of the falling tower, and most likely avoid getting swept away.

While I understand Clark's concern for Lana's well-being, he should have followed his own advice and told her about himself, and let her have the opportunity to make her own decisions about their relationship.

Whenever you notice something like that, a wizard did it!

LOL!!! Well said!

By the way, I just realized two of those nits that are neccicary for the episode to work. 1. How does Emily avoid falling through the Earth when her molecules start vibrating and 2. shouldn't she pass through her clothes too, or to they vibrate with her?

Man, that wizard has been busy lately, huh?
