Cr*p, Papa Luthor's good now. Oh no.

But now he's seeing the bad in his son. I'm glad Lex is really going into a more sinister chapter of his life.

Not bad, though after last week, anything my judgement may be a little clouded.

I do wonder now though whether Lex had any information about Jason's mother when he arranged for Jason's firing.

At the lawyer's office, Psycho Girl's only disguise is a pair of glasses and a different hairstyle, and Lex doesn't recognize her. Nice nod to continuity there. : )

Yawn.

We’ve have the murder mystery shtick before, and we’ve had the “Chloe-sort-of-makes-out-with-Clark-when-someone-discovers-them” shtick, and the “Some-girl-tries-to-kill/manipulate-Lex” shtick, and by now these ideas so tired they’re comatose. The only worthy aspect of the episode is Lex’s musings on his own dark nature, but it keeps me wondering how many times they’re going to pull the “I’m evil—no wait! I’m reformed—no, wait, I’m evil again!” character arc. This episode did it with both Lex and Lionel, even though we’ve seen it with both of them before. I’m also wondering if Lex’s musing that deep down he’s not a nice guy is something that belongs in the series finale.
---I was hoping that last week’s “Charmed” riff was an aberration, but it looks like it’s actually going to provide ongoing story thread material. Let’s hope it goes somewhere.

Corinne tells Lex in the beginning of Act 1 that if he was drugged, that it will show up on the blood test that she had ordered. Well, it might, depending on the drug, and how long before after he was released the test was conducted, since some drugs, like Rohypnol (the “date-rape drug”) are difficult, if not impossible, to detect using standard screening assays available in the United States. If flunitrazepam (the technical term for Rohypnol) exposure is to be detected at all, urine samples need to be collected within 72 hours and subjected to sensitive analytical tests.

So... Lex is seen on video with a woman... and turns up next to (what turns out to be) a DIFFERENT woman... and no one notices that they'e not the same woman? I mean, it's bad enough that Lex can't tell the difference, but the police department?

The promotional material for this episode was kind of misleading. To quote the summary in the Raleigh tv schedule: "Clark seeks help from Lionel in clearing Lex, who is accused of killing a woman. Lionel agrees to help but tells Clark it'll cost him." Uh, no. Lionel OFFERED to help and asked nothing of Clark, 'cause he's just such a gosh darn NICE guy now! (I don't know how much a local paper goof matters to you guys, but I sure feel better nwo that I vented that steam)

Why does Jane Seymour's character in Lana's dream speak French when everyone else spoke English?

Why does Jane Seymour's character in Lana's dream speak French when everyone else spoke English?

Because they were in France. In France the French speak English and everyone else speaks French. Duh.
