HAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA...
I'd finish that song if I could remember the words, and laugh and type at the same time!
can't wait until The episode.

Beats all you never saw, been in trouble with the law, since the day they was born!

Does Tom Wopat guest in this one, or something?

By ScottN on Thursday, November 03, 2005 - 9:35 am:

Ah ha! IMDB says yes. Now I get the opening joke

By John-Boy on Thursday, November 03, 2005 - 7:20 pm:

Best! Episode! Ever!

I loved seeing John and Tom together again and all the little referances to The Dukes of Hazzard were great!! All I can say is: ITS ABOUT TIME!

Oh and Lois in a string bikini was nice too! :)

By MythicFox on Thursday, November 03, 2005 - 11:49 pm:

Did anybody catch how Clark kept the helicopter from leaving? Nice little movie reference there...

By speedster on Friday, November 04, 2005 - 1:35 am:

It was cool, but if Clark doesn't watch himself he'll find his face on the cover of some tabloid with the headline:

"SUPERBOY SAVES LIVES."

sorry, too much?
Clarks gotta get himself some specs... or cover his face when he saves someone in front of witnesses.

By Brian Lombard on Friday, November 04, 2005 - 5:34 am:

Lots of Dukes of Hazzard references, including:

1. Jack Jennings name, a tip of the hat to Waylon Jennings.
2. Jennings referred to Chickasaw County, a county frequently visited by the Dukes, and home to Sheriff Big Ed Little.
3. The car, even though the one on Smallville was a 1968 Charger, whereas the General Lee was a 1969. I know this cause I own a 68.
4. Lex referring to Jennings as a "good ole boy."
5. Jennings climbing in through the window. Hilarious!
6. "Wouldn't be the first time I put my life in your hands."

By LUIGI NOVI on Friday, November 04, 2005 - 9:11 am:

After Melissa Page is hit by the car in the teaser, I was surprised that in the subsequent shot of her lying on the ground, she was still moving, but in reviewing the shot, I think she was just still reeling from the impact.

When Maggie Sawyer shows up at the Kent House in Act 1, she flashes her badge to Clark, and it’s the same shape as Superman’s chest emblem.

Clark again shows up at Lex’s mansion uninvited, and Lex again doesn’t seem to wonder how he got in, despite the “line in the sand” that he mentions Clark drew in their friendship. And from the way Lex helps Clark in this ep in trying to clear of the name of his political opponent, it looks like they’ve indeed pressed the Reset Button that I thought they had retired when Clark agreed to help Professor Miles.

The Dukes of Hazzard references, from the make and model of the car, to Lex referring to Jennings as Clark’s “Good ol’ boy” in Act 2, to Jonathan slipping in through the window and making a crack about Jack keeping his keys in the ignition in Act 3, were cute.

None of the Windgate patrons or managers seem bothered by the fact that Lois never takes her top off by the time her number is finished. (I know I was! That and the fact that Chloe and Lana weren’t up there with her!)

What crime do they arrest Clark for when they raid the Wingate at the end of Act 2?

By Blitz - Digimon Moderator (Sladd) on Friday, November 04, 2005 - 1:52 pm:

Weren't they arresting everyone in there? (I'm not involved in too many police raids, so I can't exactly say if that's normal or not)

By LUIGI NOVI on Friday, November 04, 2005 - 2:41 pm:

Yeah, but what could they arrest them for?

By John-Boy on Friday, November 04, 2005 - 4:46 pm:

Actually Luigi, Lex was calling Jennings a "Good Ole Boy" to Johnathan, not Clark. And it was Jennings that slid through the window of the car, not Johnathan

By LUIGI NOVI on Friday, November 04, 2005 - 7:15 pm:

Yeah, you're right. Thanks.

By John-Boy on Friday, November 04, 2005 - 7:29 pm:

Wow thats a first! And you are welcome! :)

By The Instigator on Tuesday, November 08, 2005 - 5:56 am:

I think Clark flew up to the helicopter, just like he did in "Vortex."

Title: Good Ol' Boys
Artist: Waylon Jennings

Just the good ole boys.
Never meanin' no harm.
Beats all you never saw,
Been in trouble with the law,
Since the day they was born.

Straight'nin' the curve,
Flat'nin' the hills.
Someday the moutain might get 'em, but the law never will.

Makin' their way,
The only way they know how,
That's just a little bit more than the law will allow.

Just the good ol' boys,
Wouldn't change if they could,
Fightin' the system like a true modern day Robin Hood..

Yeeeeee-haaaaaaawww! *As car jumps the creek*

The Dukes of Hazzard was the best show ever! I had that song on an old 45 record that I've still got, 25 years later!

By MythicFox on Thursday, November 24, 2005 - 6:46 pm:

Underage drinking, possibly?

I think Clark flew up to the helicopter, just like he did in "Vortex."

Nope. He just snagged the lander with a yellow cable that was up on the roof (hence the movie reference I mentioned earlier; a helicopter snagged on the cable and crashed on the edge of the building, which led Clark to making his first appearance as Superman).

By Art Vandelay on Monday, February 13, 2006 - 3:04 pm:

He was drinking coke though, wasn't he?

Should Clark have been able to pull the 'copter down like that, surely no matter how strong he was, pulling on the cable would have just pulled him up and not the helicopter down. Unless of course, he was subconsiously using his flight ability to anchor himself to the ground, it looked like we could see the energy wages around his feet when he landed.

I've noted that most of the episodes this season seem to be resolved about 3/4 of the way through.

While most of the cars used for the General were 69's, they also used some 68's and 70's, usually modifying them to look like 69's.

YEEEEEEEEEE-HAW!
