Apparently Anne Rice's books were so popular among the undead of Sunnydale that at least two
vamps tried to up their reputations by declaring
they were Lestat!
On the other hand it appears that Spike didn't really care for the depiction of vampires in the
Rice books.

Anne Rice has reconverted to Catholicism and her latest book is a novel based on the early life of Jesus.
