An area to examine this series would be nice

Well, hey, Richard, you just created one! :)

No problem. Never read these myself (devoured the Asterix books though) but by all means go ahead and examine...

Speaking of which, kerriem, would the Asterix books be appropriate here or in the Comic Books board?

I'm not sure. But somehow I can't quite see the gang over at Comic Books taking the little guy up, so...

Anyway, carry on for now, and meanwhile I'll get in touch with KAM just to make sure. :)

Ah, Tintin! The lad who beat Neil Armstrong to the moon by about ten years!

Tintin dramatically improved my French! I was sent on an exchange visit to France when I was 15 and spent the most miserable six weeks of my life with a family who, although they tried to be nice, just would not speak slow enough for me to understand them. Being extremely shy back then, there were only so many times I could bring myself to say “Pardon?” and most of the time the daughter (who’d previously spent a couple of months with me and my family in England) would translate what her family had said into English for me. After a week or so of this I withdrew to my bedroom and barely ever came out, and spent a large amount of the time reading Tintin books, along with some Asterix ones. At the time I would have said that I’d just looked at the pictures and glanced at the text but when I got back to school my teacher couldn’t believe how much my French had improved. So I owe it all to Tintin!

Did any Top Chef fans think that Stephen from Season 1 looked like Tintin?
