I can't for the life of me figure out why it had to be one-or-the-other, but I am glad they picked up Firefly. I just hope they keep it. It's currently the only good show on, as far as I can tell.
And that's all she wrote. Hey, Fox, stop dumping new shows by popular creators into that preempted-by-everything Friday night slot, you nitwits!
Idiots.
More griping by the creators about how the show was abandoned by a Fox who neither led people to the show nor allowed it to find its own audience.
Maybe Joss Whedon and Chris Carter can swap Fox horror stories over beer or something.
On the other hand, still much talk about shipping Firefly to another station. Especially since they've finished three more episodes that Fox isn't going to air. Aaaaarrrrrggggghhhhhh! Agony, aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhggggggggggooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeee!
No Joss and Tim and Fox have all stated that the last three episodes will be aired. If they are not Fox (as owner of the show along with Mutant Emeny) would have to eat the cost of those episodes so I doubt they would flush that money down the toilet but then Fox traded Mike Piazza from the Dodgers so you never know
Thanks for the correction.

That Friday night slot worked for X-Files.
Unfortunately, executives don't take into consideration that X-Files was initially produced on a modest budget and took several years to become the hit it became.
Though to be honest, neither show struck me as very good.
The X-Files was a modest underground hit in the ratings on Friday back in the days when Fox had lower ratings expectations. The show became a cultural phenomina through word of mouth but was never big in the ratings until it was put on Sunday.
Dark Angel was only cancelled because they had the WWE's "kiss of death", Lita, in the final episode. I know cuz Trish Stratus said so.
