Say...did they actually show Mal's bare behind when this episode aired? I'm not surprised that it's on the DVD (though I admit I was a bit surprised, since I figured the DVD shows whatever is shown on TV). Did they actually show that?

I don't think that the episode aired on Fox. They didn't show is rear when it was played on Sci-Fi.

Why? As I understand it, cable isn't subject to censors the way broadcast TV is (IIRC it has something to do with not using public airwaves or something like that).

Cable is still regulated by the FCC because they can control the legality of thouse hundreds of miles of cable snaking through your town to bring you 500 channels. But the general rule has been that since you have to get order cable they can get away with a little more. That said it's not a free for all with basic cable. If something's too controversial the cable channel could still face being dropped from the cable carriers facing boycotts from angry parents who don't like the fact that they have to order every channel to get cable and they can't ask the cable carrier to just remove FX & Spike from their own cable package.

At the moment FX has probably pushed cable as far as anyone is willing to right now with The Shield, Nip/Tuck & Rescue Me that have shown bare butts, (just brealy) female nipples, the words "sh*t & "p*ssy" and pretty much all words short of the F-bomb and the C-bomb.

Premium channels can do whatever they want because you have to specifically order them.

Oh BTW Nathan Fillion got a fan for life when my former roommate, and good friend, Maria saw his nude scene in this episode.

Does a trash pickup drone come every time someone drops something down the chute? Seems pretty wasteful. And if it waits until the container is full, how did the crew know when the drone would come?

Personally, I thought just about every aspect of the heist was half-baked. Among other things, despite the alleged paranoid levels of security, no one thinks it odd that a tramp freighter is hovering around the place where it has no business being.

Not to mention Mal falling for YoSaffBridge's crocodile tears and sitting next to her so she could lift his gun.

Best Line:
Saffron: He's my husband.
Mal: Well, who in the d*mn galaxy ain't!
