A new 3-issue comic, Serenity: Better Days, is coming March 12!

Like the previous miniseries, Those Left Behind, it also takes place prior to the film Serenity (you can check out the Wikipedia article on that series--I worked on it extensively myself), and reunites Joss Whedon and artist Will Conrad. All the covers will be by Adam Hughes! Woo-hoo! You can check out a three-page preview at the link above.

I finally read this comic. I'm not sure I'm the right one to be reviewing this; it's been a while since I saw the series. But it looked good and I wish the series hadn't been canceled.

In this comic, the baddies, who aren't really identified very well, have a big nasty automated tank-like machine, and they're waiting for somebody to be stupid enough to attract its attention.

Of course the Firefly crew attract its attention, and things look dire until River jumps down and punches the off button...??!! Is that all it took to defeat it??!!

Zoe comes in with a little boy, and I didn't know where he'd come from. Then he leaves, and the plot continues. I'm sure he was there for comic relief, but who was he?

There are a lot of jumps from one scene to another, and I found it a bit confusing. I suppose somebody who's been studying the show more than I have, would like this comic better.

I won't rate it on any scale; I'm reluctant to criticize; maybe others would like it better.

Although, River punching the off button just didn't seem plausible at all...was there something I missed, or was it supposed to be funny?

Hasn't anybody else read this one yet?

I wish I could edit the above a bit, now that I've already posted it.
I'd like to add a couple of things.

A list of characters would have been helpful; the story was okay. I didn't give more details on the story because it was so short.

It would be nice to have more Firefly stories, but as a TV series or in movies; I don't know if people who regularly read comics would feel the same way?
