Good episode, though I think it showcases Sorkin's writing weaknesses. While I think he wrote great stories, he has issues with dialogue. It seems like he's trying to write "authentic" dialogue, yet it comes off as forced and annoying. Two of his dialogue issues show up here:

1. "Yeah." I don't know why, but WW has more "yeahs" in it (during the Sorkin years) than any other show. It grates on me after a while.

2. "I'm sorry?" "Yeah" I can at least see; it's an answer to a question, even if it is overused. But this quirk makes no sense. Sorkin has this thing for repetition. In this episode, I counted at least five times where someone said something, and the listener didn't hear it, and the speaker had to repeat it. As I said, it's not functional. It doesn't add anything. Yet Sorkin inserts this over and over into his writing. It makes me think that those infant hearing tests from the Family Wellness Act need to be given to the White House staffers. That, or they have a real penchant for daydreaming. Either way, this little "gem" starts to wear on the watcher after a while.
