Probably should be noted that neither of the Presidents Bush participated in the discussions.

By Matthew Patterson (Mpatterson) on Wednesday, August 07, 2002 - 12:53 pm:

I imagine the current one has a few more important things to do. And he did send Karl Rove.

By Brian Fitzgerald on Wednesday, August 07, 2002 - 9:48 pm:

Yea he does. Didn't I see him playing golf with his dad just a few days back?

By Brian Webber on Wednesday, August 07, 2002 - 10:07 pm:

Fitzie: *LOL* Yeah. And the White House said it 'wasn't a vacation.' I guess Bush got his definition of vacation from the same dictionary Clinton got his definitions of 'sex' and 'is'. :)

By Matthew Patterson (Mpatterson) on Thursday, August 08, 2002 - 12:03 am:

Yes. Because, you know, the President doesn't deserve time off now and then. And he ought to bejigger his schedule so as to be compatible with that of a television show.

Gods above, people, have a little respect for the job.

His vacation didn't happen at the same time as the special. It happened very recently. I was cracking a joke about BUsh starting a tradtion of taking a month long vacation every year. How many adverage Americans get a month long vacation?

Yes, I understand this, because I am above the age of four. I also was not *saying* that his vacation happened at the same time as the special. Indeed, I specifically said that it must *not* have, hence him having more important things to do at the time - like, his job.

How many adverage Americans get a month long vacation?

Since when is the President an average American? Would we really want him to be? Much as I can't stand the West Wing staff's condescending attitude sometimes, this is one thing I tend to agree with them on.

Now, children, there's enough room in the sandbox for everyone. No throwing sand. Play nice!

Patterson: We respect the JOB fine, it's the poeple DOING it we can't stand. :)

I'd rather have a full time president than one who could wonder off the job all the time and just trust that the special interest groups could handle things. Not a slam aginst Republicans or Democrats just a slam on modern politics in general.

I liked this one;

Was the 9/11 episode too heavy handed?

By Mike on Saturday, August 31, 2002 - 1:56 pm:

At least Bush didn't get drunk and break his leg on the golf course like a certain president did :)

By somebody who feels like being creative in this username box once again, producing elongated and pointless wads of verbiage, showing off an overly exuberant verbosity, although of no particular generosity, pomposity, grandiosity or velocity. on Saturday, August 31, 2002 - 7:40 pm:

I don't remember Ford breaking his leg, or getting drunk for that matter? And was the getting drunk and breaking his leg happen at the same time? Was it another president?

By ScottN on Saturday, August 31, 2002 - 10:02 pm:

IIRC, it wasn't on the golf course. Clinton broke his leg in Greg Norman's house.
