Great Lines: "They weren't born wanting to do this!" I was cheering when I heard this. MAN, why can't we have a Pres like Bartlett in real life? :( My aunt says she can't watch this show anymore because seeing a GOOD President in action just makes her depressed because of the Idiot in Chief we have now.

You're ignoring the whole "assassinates his enemies and covers it up" deal, not to mention the "covers up potentially incapacitating medical condition" issue, aren't you.

By Hannah F., West Wing Moderator (Cynicalchick) on Wednesday, October 09, 2002 - 3:47 pm:

Point taken, Matt, but consider Bartlet's intelligence and political strength; the way he usually stays true to his ideals, but knows when a bombing or retaliation is needed.

Now think of Dubya.

Hmm?

It is also unfair to compare an idealized TV President with one who has to live in the real world, particularly when you haven't even seen the TV president's entire term in office.

So many problems with this episode, so little time. First of all, the way that Rock the Vote--a nonpartisan affair--becomes a Democratic fund raiser.

Second, just because Leo likes Jordan is NO REASON to bring her in on the Sharif plan. That's why you have an Office of White House Counsel.

Third, watching this makes me hit my knees in thanks that Aaron Sorkin is gone from this show. I know that people mishear things in real life and others have to repeat themselves, but it's annoying and distracting to have scripted, planned mishearings.

"What do you think?"
"Sorry?"
"I said, what do you think?"

What a hack.

Synopsis for this episode:

Josh and Toby hatch a plan that would revolutionise the affordability of college. Leo brings in an old aquaintance on the Qumar situation whilst the President finishes his search for a new secretary.

Not to mention that not only is the President fictitious but the entire universe and everyone in it and everything they say and do is the result of someone's mind.

True, but is it any different then people comparing superheroes or video game characters or really, any fictitious characters when they're all just figments of people's imaginations and anything about them is something a writer made up?
