Holy Night

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: The West Wing: Season 4: Holy Night

Teaser

1. The guys in the car are speaking German; why did they ask the guy in back to say something in Yiddish?
2. It said "1954." The streets, scene, and CARS are straight out of the 30s.

And is it just me, or does Toby's father (the dude in the back) resemble Brent Spiner?

And I haven't seen this in forever, so I'm wondering what I'm supposed to draw from this teaser. :/

"As I understand it, it's like a binary system. You're either pregnant or you're not."

Ba-ZING! :O

Hannah, are you sure they were speaking German, It sounded Yiddish to me.

By Hannah F., West Wing Moderator (Cynicalchick) on Monday, July 12, 2004 - 9:38 pm:

Positive, unless Yiddish is very similar to German.

"Was?" (subtitle: What?)
"Komm mit mir!" (subtitle: Come with me!)
"Dein Weib..." (sub: Your wife...)

Yiddish is a hybrid between German and Hebrew, so it's quite possible. Kira/Shira (if she's still around) would probably know one way or the other.

It's so long since we last saw Stanley that I couldn't remember who he was until Jed finally said his name.

I also didn't remember (had we even been told?) that Charlie and Zoey had split up.

This programme really picks its Christmas music well. I remember a beautiful rendition of "Carol of the Bells" during the episode when Josh was suffering flashbacks to the shooting; and the Whiffenpoofs' version of "Holy Night" had my eyes filling with tears.

Synopsis for this episode:
An attack of the guilts by the President and Leo causes Josh and Donna no end of grief. Will moves into Sam's office to the chagrin of the rest of the office staff, Charlie and Zoe have an uncomfortable reunion and Toby has to deal with an unwanted piece of his past.
