"If we get a Republican, I want someone who looks like Ainsley Hayes!" (don't know it word-for-word)
"He DOES!"
Synopsis: Everything in the White House comes to a screeching halt after a crazed gunman opens fire from outside the fence, including a vital call to Russian President Sheghorin regarding a US drone downed in former Soviet territory. Eventually Bartlet is forced to admit that the drone was not looking at Finnish coastal erosion but was really spying on the construction of a Russian nuclear plant. Suprisingly, Sheghoring seems grateful--yet another sign that the Russian executive might be a hostage to his military-industrial complex.
Hannah, as I recall, after Josh blows up b/c Joe's a Republican, it goes:
Donna: "Ainsley Hayes was a Republican!"
Josh: "Well, if you're a Republican you d**n well better look like Ainsley Hayes!"
Donna: "He does."
In this episode, (Lt.) Will Bailey is heading off to defend two enlisted men who refused an order to launch their ICBMs. Bailey says that "they were on DEFCON-DELTA at the time." Now, I could swear that someone else (ScottN, maybe) had pointed this out before, but I couldn't find it. Simply put, DEFCON-DELTA is fictional. The DEFCON levels (a system which allows the President to simultaneously elevate the combat readiness of all military personnel and installations around the globe) are numbered 1 though 5, with 5 being the least ready and one being "finger on the button" ready.
Maybe this isn't a nit, though. In "25," mention is made of being at DEFCON-ALPHA, so maybe TPTB are saying that, in the WW-verse, Greek letters are used.
