Do we have a case of foreshadowing, with the letter scene, followed by Bartlett's closing comments to Abby?

And what will Josh do?

By ScottN on Thursday, December 02, 2004 - 1:01 pm:

Oh, and Al Bundy is running for president!

By Brian Webber on Thursday, December 02, 2004 - 2:43 pm:

I'm still gathering my thoughts on this episode, but one thing I can say;

Sam Cooke! YES! :) And danged if he didn't die the way I'd like to go. Shot to death naked on a fire escape by a jealous husband. *wink*

By ScottN on Thursday, December 02, 2004 - 4:13 pm:

Huh?

By Brian Webber on Thursday, December 02, 2004 - 11:04 pm:

Scott: It would help if I knew what exactly confused you.

By Hannah F., West Wing/C&J Moderator (Cynicalchick) on Thursday, December 02, 2004 - 11:24 pm:

Woo, James Taylor! :D

Brian: Is that really how Cooke died? :/

By ScottN on Thursday, December 02, 2004 - 11:44 pm:

Took me a moment to realize you were talking about the guy who won the posthumous arts medal.

VERY interesting episode! The West Wing of old is back. What do you do if you are Josh? What is going to happen to Bartlet?

While I do think that they have protrayed the Bartlet/Hoynes relationship as one that I hope is not typical of a President/Vice President relationship, I don't think that Josh could or should turn down the chance to run Hoynes' campaign. Its in his blood.

I am curious as to what will happen to Bartlet. And I wonder what the role of Leo will be. He can't just pop in from time to time. He needs some sort of position. Or if he is going to pop in, maybe something like a Clark Clifford-like figure.

Hannah, have you read anything about what will happen if the show goes on after the Bartlet Administration? Will there be another West Wing cast in 2 years? While I like the idea of an Alan Alda Presidency, he is supposed to be a Republican. I don't think I could stomach watching a Republican presidency on TV when I don't like watching one in real life.

By Brian Webber on Saturday, December 04, 2004 - 1:11 am:

Harvey: Two words; Jimmy Smits.

By Hannah F., West Wing/C&J Moderator (Cynicalchick) on Saturday, December 04, 2004 - 1:12 am:

Republican, as far as I've read. And yeah, I agree with you.

By Brian Webber on Sunday, December 05, 2004 - 2:32 am:

They go Rep (even if it's Alda who I love), that's one less show for me to wtach. Which is fine since I've been endeavoring to watch Less TV (CSI NY blowing doesn't hurt, nor do having no less than 3 of my fave shows in their final years), but it'd still stink.

By Harvey Kitzman on Sunday, December 05, 2004 - 2:35 pm:

So Smits will be President? I have to admit that while I like Smits, I would like to see a Hoynes Presidency if anything to see Josh freak out at being Chief of Staff. A Russell Presidency would be great if anything to hear Office Space lines again, and the fact that Josh Malina is also a good actor. If Alda was a Democrat, I could watch his presidency.

I would love for Al Bundy to be President! Better him than the currect Alfred E. Newman!

By ScottN on Sunday, December 05, 2004 - 9:16 pm:

Can you see the Office Space presidency?

Bingo Bob: Hi, how's it going. Ummm... We really need you to work this weekend.

By Hannah F., West Wing/C&J Moderator (Cynicalchick) on Sunday, December 05, 2004 - 9:40 pm:

Umm, yeah. Did you get the memo? Your speeches all need the cover-sheet on them. Yeah, the memo says that the cover-sheet needs to go on all speeches.

By Harvey Kitzman on Monday, December 06, 2004 - 12:25 pm:

Um, yeah. I'm going to need the Senate to go ahead and pass that trade bill today. M'Kay?? Thaaankks.

On a somewhat related note, click on this link for an Office Space crank call. WARNING! The F bomb is dropped once. It is extremely funny!

Toby: Somebody took my red stapler.

By Hannah F., West Wing/C&J Moderator (Cynicalchick) on Wednesday, January 05, 2005 - 11:46 pm:

You know, Swingline never made red staplers before that. After the movie, there was a high demand for them.
