Well, even in a great show there are bound to be poor episodes. I thought this ep was boring, and the "crisis" with the Canadians came off as campy and almost anti-military. Plus, the politicking seemed like something out of the Aaron Sorkin wastelands of the first season.

Since when is Bartlett a deficit hawk? If he was, it would seem to me that the events of Shutdown wouldn't have happened.

Loved seeing the Speaker Haffney get his comeuppance. The "slumber party" with all the Democratic Representatives was great!

What will Bingo Bob do when he finds out the role his office (and Donna) played in this game?

Also loved that Cliff has Josh's old office.

Cliff: "My office is your office"
Josh: "It was"
(or something to that effect).

One thing didn't make sense to me. Cliff is a Republican who was the lead counsel in the Cogressional inquiry into Bartlet's MS. Why is he so eager to help this White House?

I liked seeing Haffley get his comeuppance too.

My wife and I are betting the Donna switches to Santos' campaign in May Sweeps. Especially after the way she watched him talk to the wavering Arkansas congressman.

Good to see Tim Taylor's brother Marty back on TV as the guy from the Interior Department who brought the Canadian affair to the NSA.

Oh yes, I will have to remember the sleep over tactic. It was a good one.

No, he was the lead counsel on the witchhunt into Leo's alcoholism.

And to answer your question, my guess would be professionalism. He didn't want the job, but once he was convinced to take it (see "Drought Conditions", he's doing his d@mndest to do it well.

You are right about Leo's alcoholism, but the initial inquiry was into Bartlet's MS.

Sort of like how an Arkansas land deal got turned into a witch hunt over a Presidential affair.......

I also misspelled Congressional

You're right, Harvey. Just checked, and it was in Bartlett for America and H-Con 172.
