Yeah, but Will and Kate and the bra? Ewwwwwwww!

By Harvey Kitzman on Thursday, March 16, 2006 - 11:39 am:

About friggin time Josh and Donna hooked up! Then they pull that ending? Please don't turn this into Ross and Rachel.

Josh and Kate? OK that works.

Nuts! I erased the DVR before I realized I should of looked at who was standing with Bartlet meeting the new President. Leo wasn't there, was he?

Rumor is that Sam is going to be the new VP candidate? Hopefully the whole prostitute thing doesn't come out.

Look at Josh holding the phone when he is talking to the White House. Initially, he has the phone backwards - you can see the screen away from his ear. Then he switches back in the shot from another angle.

Where has Charlie been? We haven't seen him since he got caught doing the freaky nasty with Zoe.

I expect that everyone that needs to will get together by the end, but I hope they don't leave us with World War 3 about to break out. This universe is supposed to be in better shape than the Bush universe.

Yeah, T'Pooh.
Harvey: Interesting thought.

And the Kate/Will/underwear: Anyone else reminded of that scene with Donna?

By Hannah F., West Wing/C&J Moderator (Cynicalchick) on Thursday, March 16, 2006 - 2:02 pm:

And yeah, Leo was in the room. :(

By Harvey Kitzman on Thursday, March 16, 2006 - 4:16 pm:

What scene with Donna are you talking about Hannah? The one in this episode?

Leo was in that scene? I seem to remember some debate about this after John Spencer's death. I have heard that they have filmed a Leo funeral scene.

By Harvey Kitzman on Thursday, March 16, 2006 - 4:17 pm:

Oh, and the WW universe is definitely better than ours.

When Sam made some mistake to a woman (a reporter or lobbyist or somesuch), Donna went to talk to her to make it up..And Donna's underwear from the previous day fell out of her pants. The lady mailed it to her at the WH.

Great episode. I thought that the scene with Vinnick, Santos, and the President, in the Oval Office, was outstanding. And it was nice to bring the flagging Kazakhstan plot and tie it in with the "real" plot, the election. I kind of felt like the writers had lost their way with this whole Russia/China deal, but it seems like it had a point after all: namely, to provide us with a perfectly understandable twist in the final episodes.

I also loved the end, when that song starts, and Vinnick is standing there in front of the hotel, all alone, sillhouetted by the marquee lights. It just looked cool.

One issue I had: when meeting privately with Bartlett, Leo suggests air strikes in Kazakhstan, presumably as a way to avoid having to deploy thousands of ground troops. My question is: against whom? As I understand it, the US deployment was intended to be peaceful in the sense that the US was just going to police the country and try to create a neutral buffer between China and Russia. But airstrikes are a different matter. Bombing one of the two sides would be an overt act of war. So why did Leo suggest it?

Quick question: whatever happened with Toby's leaking and the congressional investigation that was supposed to tank the Santos campaign? Did they ever resolve that, or was it just conveniently ignored?
