Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Andromeda: Season One: MUSIC OF A DISTANT DRUM

By Triggins (Triggins) on Monday, January 15, 2001 - 5:36 pm:

Tyr crashlands on a strange planet and loses his memory as his fellow Nieztcheans chase after him.

By KAM on Tuesday, January 16, 2001 - 4:07 am:

Bonk, bonk to the head.

Is there a Glossary term for the Amnesia cliche?

By Triggins (Triggins) on Tuesday, January 16, 2001 - 4:54 am:

There should be.

BEOTH--Bonk 'Em On The Head.

So Hunt won't allow any sort of profit making on board? How he keeps his ship in shape with no crew and no money to buy spare parts I'll never understand.

Spoiler-

I wonder if now that Tyr has this relic he can show it for profit and make money off pilgrims?

Tyr having feelings for this woman & stepson would seem to violate the Nietchian idea of mating just to produce children. (Although I guess we can chalk it up to the amnesia. ;-)

I was certain that at the end the Midden would become the keepers of Drago's body & if the Dragons didn't stop treating them as slaves it would be destroyed. Surprisingly they stayed true to Tyr's character.

Spockania, it's especially interesting considering that a few eps ago he was selling off stuff from the ship.

Yeah, but he still remembered that he was Nietzschean and what that means -- so it's still puzzling. (Although it was also well-acted, which helps a lot. :-) )

I rather liked this episode. The location shooting was great. At first I thought the plot "ye ol' memory loss" but once it was explained and the story advanced some it was okay. And it was an interesting little piece on the Nietzschean culture and post-Fall worlds.

I think I could get very used to these Pine tree planets. I was a bit disappointed by the cardboard cave though. It looked a bit better than the Trek cave though so I'll give it quality points.

Was it ovious to everyone else that the container had a body in it? Although after Tyr remembered about his mother I started to think that it was his mother in it.

By KAM on Wednesday, February 14, 2001 - 1:55 am:

I think it was obvious to me when I saw the shape of the container, but I'm not positive. The clip from Double Helix did clinch it however.
