Gerentex returns in this episode.
Gerentex takes over the Eureka Maru and forces Trance and Harper to help him in his newest bid for wealth and power.
As soon as I saw the opening quote, I knew it was going to be an odd episode.... I was right! However, it was still a good one.
I felt that the B story line dealing with Dylan's grief over Rhade's betrayal and the problems with the Persieds was a little weak. They could have devoted more time to the A story or focused a little more on Dylan's grief for the B story line.
was it me or did gerentex appearance change from the first episode; he looked different to me.
here he looked more human while in the first episode he looked more rat-like.
I agree--Dylan's grief was never actually even _shown_; it was only _mentioned_ by Rommie.
Speaking of whom--doesn't it seem like picking up trash would be something she would delegate to one of her anonymous robots rather than using her ship-made-flesh form? I mean, it is a form she seems to value, so I'd think that she would let the anonymous ones do the grunt work & keep Rommie for human interraction & more complicated thoughs. Though, maybe she doesn't see picking up trash as a mundane job.
The clutter completely suits Harper's personality--but have we seen it before?
I loved Trance's lecture on violence while she held the guns.
Gerentex did seem different.
So almost a year has passed since Under The Night? Is that Earth years or Commonwealth years?
Maybe a nit, or not.
When depressurising the hall, Harper says 'that giant, sucking sound you hear'.
Doesn't he meaning blowing sound since the air would rush into the vaccum?
Then again Harper getting the word wrong is hardly surprising.
Also the depressurization may be done mechanically, instead of by opening the hallway to space so pumps might just be sucking the air out.
Anyone think that Beka's gonna be ticked about the damage to her ship?
A fun scene that probably won't happen is when someone wants to use the Maru, Beka lists the amount of damage that happened the last time that person used the Maru.
Either Harper's really desperate or he's somewhat into S&M, because it looked like the girl with information had BARBED WIRE in her hair. Ow, ow, ow.
For a couple of profiteering capitalists, I'm surprised that neither Gerentex nor Harper suggested seeing what other valuable commodities might be lying around the Mad Perseid's place.
Under the category of things we learn about the characters Harper's middle name is Zelazny.
Dataport date: 11.5-11.13
According to the dataport dates Under The Night & An Affirming flame occured 7 months earlier. Not what I would call almost a year.
