By Merat on Friday, November 02, 2001 - 5:40 am:

Ok...... spoiler for this episode here... but..... is that woman a new main character?

By Merat on Friday, November 02, 2001 - 5:41 am:

Oh, also, who did his wife play? The pregnant woman?

By Triggins (Triggins) on Saturday, November 03, 2001 - 6:08 pm:

Yes she played Jadis the pregnant woman. And their son Rojan was probably born shortly after the episode was filmed.

By Triggins (Triggins) on Saturday, November 03, 2001 - 7:40 pm:

Merat I was curious which woman were you referring to. I missed the first few minutes of the episode but on the official site I have noticed the two charcters from Pitilies As The Sun in the credits for the next four episodes.

A bit of "overkill" it seems. Just from watching the "battle" scene at the end, it appears that Dylan threw his second grenade exactly as he did the first one. At least the third was from a different angle. And the AOTWs running away seemed to be repetitive as well. I felt like I watched the same four suckers trying to get out the door at least twice if not three times. The scene wasn't "bloody" enough, we had to watch parts of it over again?
NANJAO: I found the final barroom fight scene a bit overboard. Just as the shooting of the endless stream of Magog earlier in the season. Do species capable of space flight really have to land ground troops and send every last guy in through a small opening? The leader? The pilot?
And while I'm at it: what was with the pregant woman? It was almost believable up to the point where everyone patted her on the head and said: "You've done a bad thing; you just make sure that baby does good." Yet, they leave her alone on this desolate mining planet--to clean up the mess, I suppose. Maybe she inherits the bar. I mean, if they really cared, wouldn't they have taken her with them? The only medical help available for her delivery is dead.

By Merat on Monday, November 05, 2001 - 3:04 pm:

Triggins, I meant the black woman who was in charge of the bar, I can't remember her name. You said two names.... did they take the pregnant woman with them too? Also.... poor Trance :( Do you think the tail just didn't work right and thats why they had her lose it? Or will it grow back?

By Triggins (Triggins) on Monday, November 05, 2001 - 4:22 pm:

Actually when you mentioned the possibitity of a new character I went to the official site and found two names in the character lists for about four or five episodes. But I then found out that was a mistake. Still don't know if we will see Ortiz again though. I hope so.
Tribune entertainment had them get rid of the tail because they said it was too expensive. So it may grow back towards the end of the season or next if Tribune lets them.

By Triggins (Triggins) on Monday, November 05, 2001 - 4:24 pm:

Anon: You were right about their reaction to the pregnant woman killing Cory. They should have been a little more upset about it. I wonder what became of her.

By Anonymous on Monday, November 05, 2001 - 7:32 pm:

About the tail, Trance replied when asked how she felt "My tail itches," while Tyr retorted "Then it isn't really gone, is it?" and Trance got that •••• ••••-eating grin on her face. If she can return from death she most certainly can regrow that plastic tail.

When Cory is explaining to Dylan why she isn't Ortiz, but assumed her identity, she says that a bounty hunter came two years ago and killed Ortiz. A few sentences later she says that it was three years later that she realized just whose identity she had assumed.
Now, I was wondering why all the women on the planet looked so young. I mean, the *real* Ortiz looked to be mid to late 20s, yet had created a 20-system alliance several years ago. I have two theories:
1. The Joan of Arc phenomenom. Ortiz was just 16 when she formed the alliance.
2. Time in the Magellanic Cloud runs backwards. This would explain Corey and Ortiz's youthful appearance, and the fact that you know something that occurred three years after the death of someone who has only been dead two years.

Odd coincidence: I have a poster of the Large Magellanic Cloud taken from the Hubble Telescope on the wall in my office.

David Sluss posted this at cynicscorner.org

Rumor Central says that the amputation of Trance's tail took place at the behest of Tribune Suits who didn't like the way it looked. And now for their next act, according to a Reliable Source... If you've wondered where Rev Bem has been for the last three weeks, he's been off-screen so that his new appearance won't be quite so jarring when he finally does reappear. You see, Tribune thinks he's "scary and mean-looking" and they have ordered kinder, gentler Rev make-up. The explanation for Rev's new appearance will be that he was splashed with holy water while on his retreat, and was transformed into a furrier, cuter, and cuddlier Magog. Kinda like Gremlins in reverse.

I so hate it when they change the way a character looks.... I was already having issues with everyone's new hair... I know I missed an episode, but how fast does Becka's hair grow????
I hope it doesn't look that different, then again I did get used to Dargo on Farscape after they changed the makeup for him...

By Stone Cold Steven Of None on Saturday, November 24, 2001 - 12:15 pm:

Luigi Novi: I read the Sluss review too; and it
wouldn't surprise me if that's how it went down.
After all, these are the same programming geniuses
who condemned Hercules, Xena and DS9 to dead-end Saturday afternoon time slots to make room for that WB (r@/0ola (Thank the Great Bird for the autotape feature on the VCR).
There is a precedent for a kinder, gentler Rev Bem, though; compare the G'Kar who appeared in the
first eps of Babylon 5 with the G'Kar of the last season thereof; something, huh?

By D. Skinner on Wednesday, December 19, 2001 - 6:35 pm:

The loss of Trance's tail was a mistake, I think. One thing I like about this show is that the aliens are more ALIEN than on other shows; it's not just a universe of bumpy foreheads. Sad loss. (I hope it does grow back.) As for the rumor that Rev is going to be more cuddly: That seems especially foolish, now that they've revealed his nature as a creation of the Spirit of the Abyss, rather than of the Divine... Cuddly demons, even those with a strong moral sense like Rev, just don't thrill me...

By Merat on Wednesday, October 13, 2004 - 11:16 am:

So, did Trance know her tail was going to be shot off? She kept getting these weird looks and was acting a bit weird. Didn't she get a really weird look when she first entered the bar, like she knew something bad was going to happen?
