The Liberation of Earth

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Andromeda: Commonwealth's Sink: The Liberation of Earth
By Triggins (Triggins) on Monday, August 27, 2001 - 7:06 am:

I wonder if we will have an episode in which the crew of Andromeda and the new Commonwealth decide to liberate Earth from the Niets. Of course this would not be for a couple of seasons.

wouldn't that be the Magog who control Earth?

Actually, something along these lines will be seen in "Bunker Hill". Harper gets contacted by his friends and cousin because there Drago-Kazov/Sabra-Jaguar civil war has come to Earth.

I _saw_ that ep; the Andromeda crew _bailed_, leaving Harper's cousin and his friends to catch all the hell for their revolt. This could've been a _great_ story arc; but it got _dropped_ like the proverbial sack of potatoes. Thank _you_, O Powers That Be.

With any luck, it will come back again.

Really, it should.

Dylan made a promise, and, as you said, he bailed.

Actually, I thought the ep as a whole was pretty good--the occasional ep where Our Heroes don't win can be good.

The "We won"/"He won" end left me sputtering, though.

"We," that is the Andromeda & her allies, survived a nasty attack, no thanks to some inept leading by Elsibet (who was pretty brainless for an intelligent woman trained in survival, but that's another rant); all things considered, under the circumstances survival was pretty good. But not a victory.

"He," Harper's cousin, probably died. So did the other rebels. A propaganda tape doth not a victory make.

However--it could still return. After all, there were continuing rebellions elsewhere, and we didn't see Harper's cousin die, and Dylan does like to keep his promises, and the Jaguar/Dragon war really can't have stopped with one battle. So--maybe?
