What if Rhade had won?

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Andromeda: Commonwealth's Sink: What if Rhade had won?
By Triggins (Triggins) on Monday, October 29, 2001 - 5:15 pm:

What do you think would have happened if Rhade had killed Dylan and woke up three hundred years in the future?

By Jessica on Monday, November 12, 2001 - 9:06 pm:

He'd have located his pride and taken the Andromeda to them. They would then have established a nice, cozy empire.

He would also have been shocked/horrified to discover that they hadn't _already_ established a nice, cozy empire.

By Jessica on Monday, November 12, 2001 - 9:08 pm:

Either that, or Rommie would have ripped him to shreds before he knew what was happening.

By Triggins (Triggins) on Tuesday, November 13, 2001 - 5:59 am:

My guess is the second one would have happened. It would be interesting though to see how Rhade would have reacted with the Maru's crew. Well Tyr, Rev, Gerentex, Tyr's buddies, and Gerentex's two cronies would have been dead. Probably even Beka. Harper he may have allowed live but if he noticed his engineering skills.

By Anonymous on Tuesday, November 13, 2001 - 9:06 am:

It is unlikely he would have been able to kill, or would have tried to kill, Tyr.

By Jessica on Tuesday, November 13, 2001 - 7:36 pm:

I think he probably would have killed Tyr at some point (or Tyr him). The Neitzians value system seems to run 1) me 2) my pride 3)Other Neitzians 4) Perhaps non-N's, if they are useful.

Otherwise, the N's would have been able to establish the empire they initially planned instead of quarreling with one another for 300 years.

By Jessica on Tuesday, November 13, 2001 - 7:39 pm:

Of course, there is also the outside possibility that he would have been completely apalled at the mess the N attempt had made of the galaxy & decided that maybe the Commonwealth _was_ the best way for everyone to survive. Then we'd have seen his version of attempting to re-start the Commonwealth (It would probably involve informing the planets in question that the Andromeda had nova bombs & would use them on anyone who didn't sign on).

If Dylan had died then Dylan would not be able to wipe out a large portion of the Nietzchien fleet in Angel Dark, Demon Bright, therefore I think the Nietzchiens would have formed their Empire (with occasional infighting) and probably set out to obliterate the Magog.

If a Nietzchien Empire was formed then it seems unlikely that Gerentex would have been there to try to pull the Andromeda Ascendent out of the gravity well and it would have been years later that the Andromeda would have come out of it on it's own.

Rommie would probably charge Rhade with Barratry & try to have her droids arrest him.

If Rommie successfully detained Rhade in the brig she would probably try to return to the Commonwealth & find a Nietzchien Empire and/or some sort of group opposed to the Nietzchiens.

What do you want to bet that they will do an episode along these lines? Sort of a "Yesterday's Andromeda".

By Triggins (Triggins) on Wednesday, November 14, 2001 - 6:02 am:

I could see something like this coming.

By Merat on Wednesday, November 14, 2001 - 7:47 pm:

If they do it right, it could (like "Y's E") be one of the greatest episodes of the series.

By KAM on Thursday, November 15, 2001 - 4:04 am:

If they do do it, I'd like to get royalties.

Well looks like we got the answer in the Unconquerable Man. Coincidence?
